But what if we sell Santos, who does seem to have attracted interest? I’d fit Toal in there and use Jones on the right alongside him. I think Toal is much better centrally than on either side.

Im fairly sure aimson got the gig around christmas and toal was injured for most of the second injury, when MJ and I think Johnston  covered...but, i might be wrong

The 2 games we played Jones right wing back this season we scored 5… P’boro and Mk dons when Bradley was suspended.

Work permit rules have just changed haven’t they so I think we’ll be looking abroad now for some better value in the market. Think it may be 1m euros to the German clubs mentioned if they have similar training compensation rules to us where domestically u23s out of contract can still command a fee? But not 100% sure how it works in Germany. So would be a free to us potentially

I tend to agree with those who doubt we've much of a chance. I guess if we're to "take positives" (as managers say after defeats) the fact we're even being linked with this type of player is somewhat different to what we've been used to this last 4 or 5 years.

Jones hasn't played as a FB for about 2 years, so wherever he plays he's out of his natural position.  He does a great job wherever he plays down the right or centre (loses effectiveness when played on the wrong side though).  But I did say if we sign better he makes way, no problem with that, as long as its not Williams that replaces either him or Iredale/John.

John played both of those two as well

And we no doubt had good results with Iredale played LWB with Bradley

No way we pay £1M euros for a CDM with only a year on his contract but is a fascinating link. German journalists broke the news, must be some truth about it just like when they linked Dapo to St Pauli. The positives are that it looks like we will be looking at bringing in some players from overseas which we were great at in the past especially our Scandinavian imports.
