Seems people have not woken up to the fact that every signing we have done this close season are players who have shown glimpses of promise elsewhere and are not the finished player.

The management team wont come out with it, but these players are more for the future than now.

We are signing potential and tying them down to long contracts to develop them and sell on, not sure promotion is a priority.

Exactly what I’ve been saying - but the jewel in the crown would’ve been Kenny if Celtic had accepted our original bid. Most potential and exactly what we need right now, but with every European game he plays, the price goes up so I’m thinking it’s a lost cause.
Would’ve been a snip but now everyone knows what we need so it’s going to be even harder to get any developing pacy striker.

We're Obsessed with resale value.

If you want to get out of this league you're gonna need a striker who's done it consistently at this level. It's not illegal to sign players over the age of 28.

Not sure getting out the league is the main priority......Big change of policy evident in this lot of signings

Maybe the management think we can get out of this league with potential, but that is all we have at present....

I think Schumacher is doing a great job re-building the club

Players over 28 do not fit the re-mitt

Bravo, exactly right, let’s just sign the players for key positions that can get us up, striker/goal scorer being the most key. We’ve signed some potential already so just go get a proven player at this level. We’ve already missed the likes of Mullins, May, McGoldrick, Ennis, Wells and others, all proven scorers season after season at this level, any one of who would have done well in this side. Even Billy Sharp at Donny is still doing it so let’s just concentrate on the now and get someone in who knows how to do it and has actually done it. Jatta is still at Notts and how about a bid for Langstaff who doesn’t seem to be in Millwalls plans? Let’s just get someone in who actually knows where the bloody net is now and worry about next year when it comes.

I imagine it’s the investors who are obsessed with resale value as they can’t keep pouring money into a black hole and if we buy young and the do develop well we won’t have to keep spending so much every window.

Surprised at Adhame being in the frame though. He is great in the air and works very hard but he has always struggled with control and holding the ball up so works best playing off another striker e.g Dalby - so with two wingers likely to start is the plan to go 424?

Which bit?

Ah the highlighted bit.

Because he is excellent at running behind defenders, strong, quick with good control and finishing so would be good for us now and has the highest potential resale value of all our signings if he improves further.

If he is right we must have brought our previous failures of recruitment team back. Markham part 2

We couldnt get the deal over the line last time, possibly wages, so dont know why we would go back in for him? He obviously didnt want to come to us 1st time round!

Celtic haven't played in Europe yet, first game 20th August.

He may be out of our reach financially or they don't want to sell, but its not to do with anything he's done this season is it?

If we wanted shut of someone not in the team the price would be going down the longer August went on not up.

Stop it with talking sense. He's world class and unbelievable talent even though he's done next to nothing as yet but because it looks like we won't pay over the odds he just gets better and we've no ambition

Ahadme scored 2 for Charlton in their last pre season game the other day. If he joins, he’s not exactly out from the cold. The difficulty with Kenny is that it looks like Dalby is the no 1 choice for CF when he’s fit, not sure he’d be happy with a super sub role as we only play with 1 upfront. Ahadme & Burslow as back up for a fit Dalby would make make more sense…..

Surely we don't look at goals scored in friendlies against non league teams, especially if you're playing for a team 3 divisions above.

Its no more relevant than us scoring 5 at Shrewsbury.

Coyle signed Tom Eaves to play in the Prem on the back of his hat-trick for Oldham against us.

Could Agadme and/or Burstow play alongside Dalby when he's fit? The Buff was talking about Burstow calling himself a "link up" striker so could possibly do the 10 to Dalby's 9.

If so they don't necessarily all have to fight for 1 spot

Schumacher seems to be recruiting (at least) two people for each position (apart from right back).

I’d be surprised and disappointed if any squad member was considered no.1 choice for any position (goalkeeper the possible exception). That would be rank bad management.

I’m reading between the lines based on how Dalby was described at the bondholder event.

Appreciate Twitter is a small proportion of the fan base but finding the obsession over Kenny really bizarre.

Its genuinely nuts.

Exactly, just like Lusty pulling his pud over him above.  How many have actually seen him play?
