You said above ffp hasn't stopped clubs spending. Well it has, as they aren't or werent getting enough back in. Twelve points off and relegation for Sheffield Wednesday because they lost control. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/19729186.blackburn-rovers-transfer-business-key-remaining-ffp-compliant/ Perfect example. Bristol City fans now asking just how much they can spend on their forums. Post covid, with gate income down, income is even more down and will be affecting lots of club's spending ability. Traf
Dapo's not worth £2.2m IMO. I reckon that if we sold him for £2.2m, we could end up with a much stronger squad after reinvesting that money.

Snatch their hands off . 2.2 mill profit in 6 months, that's cracking business in todays climate and our rebuild as a club.

Site Supporter Steejay Posted January 9, 2022 Site Supporter Share Posted January 9, 2022 (edited) If you saw him at Ipswich & Lincoln then £2.2m would have been a bargain. If you’re looking at the last 10 games, then £220,000 would be a ripoff of Madine style. FWIW, I think he’ll come good again. Keep him and let him rediscover his talent here Aye, he was being bigged up massively earlier in the season, I wasn't convinced he'd keep it up or that he'd be going for big money any time soon, reminded me of when folk thought we'd get big money for that polish full back we had under Parky, started well but wasn't that good Neither would i be looking to cash in for £2m if we have ambitions for next season as I'm hoping he and the rest of the squad can get back to the form we saw earlier this season I doubt a bid is incoming anyway

Ani
Dapo is in his full season as a pro. Last year he scored once. He was always going to have drop off. Add in the injuries and illness at the club it looks worse. He is better than his last few games

Blondi
Looks like Aaron Morley is signing, should be a decent addition. We're also being linked with Kyle Dempsey at Gillingham, who's also out of contract in the summer. Edited January 10, 2022 by Blondi

masi 51
Dont see us signing Morley, Dempsey and Hartigan.....like the logic of signing players with 6 months left on there contracts and getting them way below market value and not leaving it until the lottery of the summer. Get them in now learn the way Evatt plays and go for it come next August. Yes Evatt system has shit days as do individual players.....When it is wrong it is glaring ie Dixon Barrows play was a joke until he got it right Boltons play was a joke until he got it right last season. It is again because of a lack of personal, but he is moving this club along why cannot everyone see that.

Site Supporter MickyD Posted January 10, 2022 Site Supporter Share Posted January 10, 2022 Does our contract negotiator need to have his/her fingers crossed when they sign the sell-on clauses so we can argue the legality of it at a later date? Mutley
Bit of a shock signing if they do manage to sign Clint Dempsey. Proven record scoring in the premier league but past his best. Not sure on this one. Mutley
