But still

Fair play

That and Che Adam’s in Serie A at Torino. I like. Even if i think they’re not very good.

I hadn't seen that one

Good work

think he had second most appearances last year just behind Collins (across his two clubs)

Sounds right, although having no competition for his position contributed too (in contrast to the 4 competing for LWB since Jan!).

Bored so watched a bit of the Kilmarnock game tonight.  They play long ball.

Armstrong won a penalty after 40 secs with some tricky footwork, but the decision was changed as the ball had gone out of play just before.

Busy bustling player. Played right wing, but is left footed.  Won a free kick centrally 30 yds out. Took the free kick himself but straight into the wall.

Took a long throw to the penalty spot and Killie scored with the header.

Ended 1-1.

Looked decent but not £1m worth, so hope we don't overpay.

Well for me none of the players mentioned so far in McAtee, Dembele or Armstrong are worth anywhere near a million so I hope it’s either bravado or it’s for different players. Other clubs have signed players who would have done well here for much less so let’s hope Evatt’s just not making bids because he has the cash to do it?

Adams will score 30+ goals in that league.

Could the 4x1 million bids just be for 2 players. That is increased bids when initial bids rejected.

I would be amazed if we spent 4 million we might have put bids in for 4  individual players but it might be a case of we got knocked back with a bid close to a million so then moved on to the next target made another offer and left the bid on the table .

Will he fuck. Serie A is dominated by great defences - it's the Italian way. If Fiorentina put out their regular team against us this weekend we'll be lucky to get nil. Fortunately for us I suspect they won't.

Khumbeni, Matheson and Conway all going out on loan.

Can only see this as a positive.

Agree, we only need a 45 seater coach now. Every penny counts.

In 2021/22, Serie A out scored the premier league by an average of 0.6 goals per game.

Of course, the Che Adam’s 30 goal statement was (I assume) a joke, but I think your historic opinion of Italian football has got in the way of the reality.

All perfectly decent back up players to our usual first team squad. I assume this means we have new ones at a higher level set up.

Yeh I agree.

While they are progressing well, they are not yet (and may never be) L1 promotion standard.

It shows we are not willing to rely on these players to get us promoted, we have our sights on better.

It's slow progress (inevitably so) but it's good to see our better B Team players getting opportunities higher up the leagues

I'd be tempted to keep Conway as back up for Williams and rotate him in for cup games/times we have 2 games in a week, rather than getting mediocre loans off the likes of Swansea and West Brom.

Save the loans market for 1 or 2 marquee ones of Premier League clubs. I don't see the point in having a load of championship clubs youngsters here not getting a game and then returning to their parent clubs.

I think the biggest thing for Conway now is that he's plays as much football as possible, which will mean a loan somewhere

Conway 'might' have a good career as a pro, maybe even at Bolton. But the coaching staff see him every day. If he was 'rotated in' for some league games, i can assure you Evatt would get huge amounts of grief for playing someone who is so clearly not (yet) at the level we need.

As I've said before, an LWB will be coming in, and they'll be way beyond Conway's level.

If that's the case then great, but what I don't want is another load of Ogbeta and Ramsey type players added on loan who are no better than what we have and block youth development
