If we hadn't gone into this form of isolation the number of deaths would far outweigh what the norm is. Did I say differently Rene? It was a simple question that received a simple answer. Quote

Yes except those - don’t know if you’re aware but it’s a pretty big place this here London. I know that around Kings Cross - Universal, Google, You Tube, us all closed their doors 5/6 weeks ago. I think Google might be on week 7. Due to having international offices and clients we had to as there is so much traffic between all the bases. Havas Italy gave the big wake up call for us and HKX planned for two weeks to get us shut and set up at home as soon as they could. Quote

One of the problems of ending this is that there is hard and fast rule about when it started and who it applied to. So a phased return when it has not be clearly agreed who it applies to will be tough. Millions will have summer holidays booked but when will it be safe to get on a plane with folk packed on. Will resorts be open and safe ? Say they announce a date for everyone to go back will there be a period when the financial support continues as businesses get back up to speed ? Quote
DazBob Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Much as it pains me, pubs need to be one of the last things to reopen. Football stadiums too. Quote
Rudy Posted April 15, 2020 Author Posted April 15, 2020 Mate of mine is a firefighter, posts are circulating on social about doing these DIY Chinese lanterns and releasing them for the NHS. Im sure no one on here is dim enough to do that but if a moron posts that they’re going to please tell them not to. Quote
Ani Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 I am not sure how many days/weeks we are in but we have reached the point where step daughters b/f who is staying with us needs to learn that to wash up you fill the bowl with hot water not rinse everything under the tap. Quote

These are the KNOWN symptoms. What if there are others that nobody has broadcast yet? Two and a bit years ago I had a mild heart attack. I'd learned and taught first aid and first aid at work and both basic and advanced life support for 25 years so you'd think I'd know the signs and symptoms of a heart attack, after all, vice-like gripping across the chest, tingling sensation at the extremities of limbs were the signs and symptoms of a heart attack that I'd been reading and teaching but they weren't what I what feeling so I convinced myself it was something different. Three days later it all happened again and, as I was travelling to Cork the next day I went to my GP to see if he'd prescribe ventolin for this asthma I'd convinced myself it was. It was only then, when he said it was a heart attack that I even considered it. Just because you know what the media are saying are the signs and symptoms of Corona Virus don't think there is an exhaustive list because there absolutely won't be yet. Different strokes for different folks. Also, don't think every person working in a care home is any more qualified than to be dressing and undressing folk and wiping their arses. Some are, some aren't. Come on mate. The Government, the WHO, the NHS are ALL saying what the most common symptoms are. I can’t imagine for a single minute that all those poor souls in the Care homes somehow had symptoms that no one could identify as “possibly” being Coronvirus. Also, like I say, there can’t be many people who haven’t seen this information, so unless all the Care home workers have not been awake for the last four weeks I don’t believe they might not know what the most common symptoms are. We have to fill out a self evaluation form before every shift block, and all those symptoms are listed, with links to WHO and Robert Koch institute if you want more detailed info. Quote

Read some twitter account by a GP who said she’s got it but the only symptoms she’s had is basically shitting herself for a month. She hasn’t had the test though, so how she’s managed to link these completely different symptoms to Coronavirus, god only knows Probably forgot to stockpile Toilet paper as well Quote

peelyfeet Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 5 minutes ago, Spider said: 761 Safe to say we are on a plateau. Pub. I really really hope we are - 4 days in a row under 800. If we get a few more I'll be convinced we are on the way down - Initially I thought we would be slowing down 3 weeks after lockdown (which is now), mainly because many people were already taking some form of precaution a couple of weeks before the lockdown started (which Italy and Spain didn't have the benefit of) However because Vallance said last week that we were still 2 weeks away and my NHS planner mate confirmed this thought, I'll reserve this judgement until we see how the next few days pan out. Fingers crossed they were both wrong and the descent has started. The confirmed positive % has definitely stabilised now at around 40% of those tested for the last week. Think we are on the road to the pub and the match boys, can look forward to sitting in the UNIBOL 2 meters away from everyone, drinking a pint of Guinness through a mask. Quote

As donn as I sat in car I was fine. Couldn't get comfortable at home so I lay on the floor. Nothing at all the next day and then on 3rd Jan I'd convinced myself it was indigestion and then asthma. Blimey. That’s a bit scary Quote
