I honestly hope they do,

but at the same time, putting 30 kids in a small classroom is asking for trouble,

I'd imagine partial school openings first

year 10 and year 6 for transition time

Possibly year 7, as 11/12 is that age where parents might still feel the need to stay at home..

I have no idea with Primary school,

Course it has to be safe

one of the reasons for not closing schools at first was parents would get grandparents to childmind who are at risk

yes some kind of phasing, headteacher at Phillips has suggested that

New cases of Covid-19 have decreased, thats the good news, hopefully the downward trend will continue, however i expect the Government to air on the side of caution and play it down, they will want to see decreases over a longer period of time.

Looking foward to Laura Kunttsbergs Questions today, i wonder what pile of shite she comes up with.

Laura is basically a fluffer for the Tories

I am guessing number of deaths and infections seem to have plateaued do we have an exit strategy ? The answer is not enough data.

OR

Lots of people dying in care homes why are nt these figures included in the numbers ? And what are you doing for care homes? The answer is because data not available in timely way and we have announced testing and making PPE available.

there are 5 who have died at the care-home where my stepmum works...

They estimate that there are about 3000 care homes in the UK that have seen infections.. very scary thought..

They have had no visitors for the last 4 weeks, so any infections have come from staff.

My other half works with the DfE.

Absolutely no inkling of schools opening

I cannot see it especially when the medical bods I recall are saying that in the main children are likely to be asymptomatic and the most prolific spreaders so they would present the biggest danger in terms of the rapid spread of this

i think that’s why jimmy krankie decided to close schools til mid August at the earliest

What are schools actually doing over here?

Daughter has to produce a video lesson and then be online 6 hours to answer questions from her class

Seems a lot less organised over here

I do agree though, schools HAVE to return, one way or another

Without schools, many can't return to work

That’s the thing, my other half is furloughed so I can work, but if you are both working from home and not key workers you’re buggered. Altogether today I’ve probably managed about 5 full hours and that’s with Easter holidays, when they are back it’s tough.

I split two weeks with my ex so it’s workable but certainly not easy for some.

I may have missed it elsewhere in the message board, but that Captain Tom fund raising effort is pretty impressive. Shows the level of feeling the country has for the NHS staff. Over £8m now and still rising rapidly (it's gone up about £100k in the last 15 minutes). Wouldn't be surprised if it hits £10m before the day is out.

I've seen some lefty on my Facebook having a go at the tories saying that a 99 year old shouldn't have to raise money for the nhs and it should be adequately funded.

Fucking have a day off love!

Some people just live in a constant state of misery, of their own making.
