Morrison’s only supermarket I’ve been in where the checkout operators don’t have a Perspex screen can’t understand why they won’t spend a few quid. Seems odd Quote
Casino Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 They've got them in his store, but he's not checkout He's dealing with moaning customers There are visors now available for all staff But he's healthy and like his mum has no fear of the virus, rightly or wrongly Quote
Casino Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 I would say, he follows the rules and doesn't leave the house except for work Quote
Escobarp Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Fair enough One nearest me hasn’t got them in which I found odd. Coop near me is like the old days with full bandit screens up. Quote
Casino Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Just now, Mr Grey said: I must admit, i feel sorry for those that work in supermarkets, they've been dealt a bit of a raw deal on the PPE front. I hope further down the line the supermarkets hand out bonuses to their staff, they have certainly earned it and i assume their proffits have increased due to that they have been the only places open where you can spend your money. Supermarkets are much maligned, to my knowledge which is limited to Morrison's, very unfairly He's either had or getting a fair bonus, they pay significantly above NMW and while this has been going on staff discount has been increased considerably No wonder I'm a pisscan with 15% off ale Quote

Roche are doing a lab based test which won't meet the general population demand, Omega Diagnostics (ODX) are just awaiting the rubber stamp to do a pin prick antibody test carried out at home, 98% accuracy at the moment. Cheese Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 (edited) Bearing in mind my sister tested positive yesterday - brother-in-law had to drive to Penrith today to get tested as that was the nearest place that had an appointment available. Apparently my neices don't need to be tested as they're below a certain age. Quite glad about that to be honest, because the proper test is fucking awful by all accounts. Had a heavy cold start yesterday so got myself tested. Had mouth swab and nasal swab. It's not that bad but yeah young kids wouldn't enjoy it. Quote
Duck Egg Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 No football, no more than 10 allowed at a funeral, families unable to spend time with each other, pubs closed, no travelling to beauty spots etc We're all putting up with massive restrictions for the greater good then this morning they've just shown a photograph of an Aer Lingus flight from Ireland to the UK. Plane was packed. Presumably we're still not testing folk before or after they've got off and those passengers are now wandering freely around the UK. What's the fecking point? Quote

It's not really a surprise, we know it was in China in December (and in reality, probably November, before they realised what was going on), so no shock it was in Europe the same month, in fact it would be far more unlikely that it only actually got here a month afterwards, especially with the amount of people that travel between China and Europe on a daily basis Quote
Spider Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 I know a few people in and around Bolton now who’ve tested positive. It’s not going away is it? Quote
