If the season is null and void and starts again from scratch with the same clubs I can’t see how we wouldn’t start on -12 

Its a shit load better than starting in L2 on 0 that’s for sure

I’d much prefer the L2 on 0 option, personally. Not necessarily falling in to the ‘win a few games and good away days’ trap, but we already know how hard it is to stay in League One with only the bottom three going down, never mind when it is reinstated to the bottom four.

I wonder if a void season would mean them keeping 23 teams in L1 for a year. Bumping Barrow up to go back to 92 would mean them having to bump up who ever is top of L2 into L1 and I can imagine there being a lot of complaints from the clubs who miss out if they're the only moves.

The other option would be some promotions but no relegations, either taking standings as they are, PPG or some sort of play off...

It would have to be a separate 12 point deduction as I can’t see how they can legally move it over and I’d be disappointed if the club didn’t challenge any such move.

FWIW I think they are playing it right saying they’ll agree with efl decision knowing it’s going our way. Then when we need to kick back I’m sure we will. I’d be amazed if we start minus 12

The efl are a disgrace, they don’t want to make the decision they are letting the clock run down because they know that the only option is to null and void this season, but are shit scared of being sued by clubs on the verge of promotion. On league 1 -12 or league 2 on zero it’s a no brainer, given the lower crowds, less money from the league and no guarantee we’d get promoted in league 2, I’ll take the -12 mile in league 1.

It doesn’t though mate. They technically would not have given us any deduction if this season is null and void. It would have never happened. 

the following season as per the efl rules would be 20/21 and that’s when our deduction would apply.

I think that getting a reprieve albeit on -12 will galvanise the town and support, and fwiw this is what I think will happen, null n void, start again as u were.

If they scrap the season I will go as far to say they won't give us the -12 again. But if they did there's a good chance we would take it higher and win. I'm more concerned about getting relegated.

If there is still some form of promotion/relegation, history would indicate a reprieve for the highest placed relegated side (unfortunately Tranmere in this case) if a division is running short on numbers. Fuck knows how they’d promote the usual four clubs from League Two without any play offs though.

If the whole thing is declared null and void then I think there would still need to be some movement in getting L1 back to a full compliment. Barrow are the obvious option in to L2, but sorting out who would come up from L2 would be a mess with Crewe and Swindon on the same points and Swindon having a game in hand. Essentially, it’s all Bury’s fault, and I’m tempted to blame them for the virus as well.
