Just don't give them your money. Easy as that.

I don't, because of this very scenario from their first accounts all those years ago! Asked at the time & got no response.

I'm not an IT guy but even I knew something wasn't adding up right, looks like someone who knows has confirmed it.

Cheese you seem to either defend the ST or question fans who criticise them.
Wondering why.

Only ever defended them when people have criticised them for doing something they can't be bothered doing themselves. Couldn't give a shit really.

I’m not going in there myself today but we’ve needed something like this for a long time.

Like it or not, football is becoming/has become more of an afternoon out now rather than turn up, watch a game and bugger off home. If finances are tight, give people a reason to spend their spare penny’s at the club.

If it’s open on Tuesday, I’ll prob pop in for a beer then

I am hearing they are adding another bar asap

They need staff training more than another bar and those beer taps that pour half a dozen beers at a time.

Half the staff pouring and half selling those poured pints. There’s no need to have two staff members waiting to get to the pump that is already being used.

Just received an email from ST.

Looking Back Over the Last 12 Months

It’s just over 12 months since we signed our Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the club, so we thought it would be a good time to look back at what has happened to us as a trust since then.

As part of the MoU, the club agreed to have regular meetings with us and we are now meeting quarterly, with minutes published on our website (view here). The latest meeting was held on 5th Aug and the notes will be issued to members and posted on the trust website in the near future.

In addition, we do meet more regularly with the club to discuss specific items as and when necessary. FanZone, season ticket prices, crowd behaviour and disabled supporter facilities have all been on the agenda over the last 12 months.

We are proud of our involvement in helping make the FanZone happen and look forward to being involved in further developing the facility from the fantastic launch and adding even more to the match-day experience.

Elsewhere, we sponsored the first Lifetime Achievement Award that was presented to Simon Marland at the End of Season Awards Evening in May. We also hosted 5 trust members (plus one) at that event as winners of our members free prize draw.

As another benefit to members, in conjunction with one of our sponsors, Bernsteins Kitchens, we established the Trust Family Season Ticketscheme which gives trust members the chance to nominate a family who they feel deserve a day out at the UoB. This allowed many new families to attend a game, who may have otherwise not done so, was fully subscribed last season and is up and running again this season and nominations for September home games v Charlton and Peterborough can be made on competitions@bwfcst.co.uk.

Our trust is now represented on the FSA National Council and several trust board members are involved in the Fair Game project.

An advertising board in the ground, presence in the FanZone, a page in the match-day programme, a growing number of affiliates and a partnership with Her Game Too have all meant this last 12 months have been the most successful and productive in the six years since our formation. For this we thank Sharon Brittan, the club board and Neil Hart, because relationships like this need input from both sides in order to grow and flourish.

The passion and commitment that exists throughout our club was evident at Port Vale yesterday, when over 3,000 travelling Wanderers fans played their part in helping us take a point and stay undefeated in what can only be described as “difficult circumstances”.

The whole vibe about our club is better now than it has been at any point during the last six years and is evidence of the progress made during the last 12 months since the signing of the MoU.

The trust board would like to thank our members for their valuable input during this period, as their voice is now being heard. And that is why we need to build on this positive relationship and grow the trust to represent as many BWFC fans as possible, wherever they are in the world, and act as a conduit for their views to be heard.

If you are not a member, please consider joining us and helping us take our relationship and standing within our club to even higher and more meaningful levels. You can join by clicking here and becoming a trust member for the equivalent of 20p per week.

You can also visit us in the FanZone prior to every home game for a chat and join the trust there.

Let’s do this together!

AGM coming. Here’s the agenda.

How strange where the board can propose a motion and a board member can second the motion.

Stranger still that they’re asking members to sanction them not having the books audited.

Motion No 1
Motions for Debate
 That subject to the provisions of the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, the members of the society shall not require an audit for the accounts covering the current financial year ending on 31 July 2023.
The members of the society agree that the accounts for the financial year ending on 31 July 2023 do not require a full audit provided that:
• The total income for that year does not exceed the threshold laid down by the FSA for audit exemption (currently £100,000);
• An independent examination of those accounts is carried out in place of the full audit;
• The independent examination is carried out in line with the best practice of the FSA;
• The independent examination is carried out in compliance with the rules and regulations of
the Financial Conduct Authority.
Proposed by: BWFCST Board Seconded by: Ian Bridge
Motion No 2
That the Report of the Directors and Statement of Financial Activities for the Year Ended 31 July 2022 as issued to members prior to the meeting is approved for filing with the Financial Conduct Authority.
Proposed by: BWFCST Board Seconded by: Maggie Tetlow
Motion No 3
The Trust resolve to expand its board/committee structure, as previously proposed numerous times, to be more inclusive and representative of the clubs fan base, including, but not limited to, under 25s. Moreover, to engage in a more meaningful way with the WHOLE fan base, (eg open meetings) to gain a better insight into supporters' views.
Proposed by: Simon Nightingale Seconded by: Arvind Jadwa
No further motions received.
Notes
The above motions will be voted on by members with Motion No 1 requiring a majority of 75% of votes cast and Motions No 2 & No 3 requiring a simple majority.
Voting will be carried out during the meeting by means of a show of hands and also an online poll.
