My 12 year old daughter has a bunch of her football team coming round to watch tonight and the whole team have tickets for the final. They can't wait for the tournament to start. Really hoping the tournament inspires a new generation of young female players. Anything which gets and keeps young girls active is a good thing.

They don't have a football stadium, its been the home of Leigh rugby league since 2008.  Man U women have been playing home games there for a few years.

I admit i like watching the womens tournaments.

The standard is good once you get to a tournament (qualifiers still have some amateur teams) the  lack of cheating also helps.

 

The women seem to be playing for the love of the game rather than just the more mercenary mens game.
