To be fair to Plymouth, they may not have been great today but they've won 12 out of 13 at home, scoring 25 goals.  They've scored 50% more than us at home and 50% more away.  Overall they have just been better at scoring and have 3 players on 29 goals between them, they fully deserve to be top (none of the 3 started today).

Yep will take that and I think those numbers is where we expected our front men to be at this stage.

analysing ourselves a bit deeper, many of our chances / goals come from wide cut backs. Not much creativity within our midfield. Everyone chooses to play another safe pass sideways rather than take a shot or try and play someone in. We just need someone to be brave enough to unlock something but get it’s probably on instruction

Think he’s talking about the clearance. They never said so on iFollow.

Looks like the ref did blow the whistle just afterwards, but I think he was stopping play due to the clash between Trafford and Johnston. Doesn't take anything away from Aimson's clearance either way. Tremendous.

Tbf hes not the only one

Kachunga was fine and very unlucky not to win it for us

Still read the same old cack

I too didn't understand the criticism of Kachunga today.  The 4 involvements I recall were winning the ball on the left wing to feed Beck, who set him up for a shot that hit the post (nearer than anyone else came apart from our 1 shot on target from 8 yards), an incisive pass to put Baka through, and when he took the ball with back to goal and was man handled and wrestled by the defender, with the ref unbelievably not giving a free kick, in injury time.  Did OK today.

Below is a picture from one if their corners.. thats EK being marked by 2 players.

Previous corners we left DC up there and they left one on him..

League leaders decide in the last few mins to leave two defenders on him.. they've had instructions to do that..

So evatt rates him, other managers rare him. He's obviously got something there that we've not seen.

Well if other managers rate him, I hope one of them takes him off our hands.

Folk are deluded if they think he’s good enough to play for a team that wants to get promoted.

Bit of a tale about Today which I think is well worth relaying..

my old man’s bday on NYD which was a milestone birthday for him so decided to take him in to the LoV today. A couple of weeks ago off the cuff I decided to email Sharon (or what I assumed was her email address) explaining he was a lifelong ST holder etc etc and anything she could do / any time spent with him would make his day. A couple of weeks went by with nothing. Eventually this week received an email from someone else at the club stating Sharon had received and read the email and to arrange a meet with her this afternoon.

so took the old man down to reception at 2:30 to meet the girl who emailed me as requested. Took us up to the chairman’s suite and we were stood outside for a while him still unsure as to what the hell was going on. Eventually Sharon comes out and apologises as she “couldn’t get away from sir Alex” and welcomed us both as though she’d known us for years. Bit of a chat ensued and he’s bowled over that she’s made the effort. He then apologises and says we have to make our way back round to the LoV to see the KO. Instantly she says No! “ I’ll find you seats in the exec box with me” shouts her laccy over and pretty much says they’re friends of mine, find them some seats to watch the match in the box. At HT come in to the chairman’s suite and we will have a brew.

So ended up spending the whole game in her (distant) company, made us feel so welcome. Had more than enough time for us.

it may have meant nothing to her in the grand scheme of things but will last my old man a lifetime. The woman is absolute class from top to bottom and I can’t imagine our club in better, more thoughtful or considerate hands.

Fantastic stuff.
Your old man is a top bloke, wish him a happy 65th from me, please.

More likely few minutes left leave 2 back than EK ability… his goal scoring and assist record speaks for Itself.

He did some good things today at a crucial point in the game. There were a few minutes when I thought their subs might swing it more than ours but we actually finished strongest and really pushed last 5 mins + injury time.

The non decision when he was being dragged down was a disgrace, could have cost us the game and contributed to the melee that followed shortly after, as well as Evatt's yellow

That's a superb clearance.

Does illustrate something I was thinking during the game... Trafford looked to be flapping a little bit today, and hasn't looked -that- assured in the air over the past few games.

Another clean sheet, cant fault him - I just hope he doesn't end up dropping any clangers!

Apparently Evatt has said it's "past its best".

Looked like it was coming apart on the first match of the season so think this is inevitable.

They even blamed the Christmas Carol service, which was stage on the centre spot only.

Reckon we need some weeks in there to thicken out the grass.. 😛

Enjoyable 0-0, similar to the Derby game in that sense.

Back three were given a test and all passed with flying colours, but Toal in particular was absolutely outstanding. He’s going to be a real star, that one. Would start both Santos and Jones on Tuesday, but stick with the three on Saturday.

Credit to their keeper for the save from Kachunga, absolutely world class.

Bod had a very good game and unlucky to be brought off, but bloody hell he should be picking out the corner every single time on the chance he had.

Morley and Dempsey building quite a partnership now. Even with Lee’s occasionally failing legs, that three just looks so much more dynamic than when MJ plays.

Thought new lad looked tidy enough and the long throw could come in handy. Better than some of Morley’s corners, in fact 🤣

I thought Plymouth knew their roles and stuck with it. Can see why they’ve picked up so many points being so well disciplined (until the last few minutes, obviously)

Genuinely think bringing on Bakayoko and Kachunga (although I’m not as down on EK as others) was a classic “give us something to spend” transfer window substitution.

Pitch will be completely replaced after the Pink gigs this summer.  When works have been carried out previously , only the top 6" have been removed.

This time they will remove down to 18"

Get rid of 25+ years of worn out "stuff" ( technical phrase).

The old lights are being binned off ( sold to another club not far away , who love anything/ one that's been connected to us).

We have purchased a up graded ,improved , very impressive set of lights  , from a nearby Premier League Club.

So hopefully next season the pitch will be in a much better condition.

96% of the above is true .

Big games, not taking chances again, is why we won’t finish top 2.

but, the record in recent weeks, not conceding against the big teams, plus strengthening, makes us a big player in what will happen in this league.

4 points from the next 2 would really help the cause and I would have snapped your hand off for 4 points from Barnsley and today.

Dempsey outstanding and finally a long throw specialist !

Plymouth brought 2 back in the first half to mark Charles when he stayed up for their corners as well.  They were positioned to attack the corner and when they saw Charles on the halfway line they brought another back, it worked (and why wouldn't it?).

Has had virtually nothing to do last 2 home games but dropped an easy cross v Derby that nearly cost us and easily beaten in the air for the header cleared off the line today.   Also presented Plymouth with an open goal chance early on that they thankfully didn't try to hit first time.  He's as good as we'll get but we're also doing him a big favour giving him games at a club our size every week at his age when he's so unproven.
