When Mason B was scoring early season I said I had my doubts about him, but whilst he was scoring looked harsh. That day he missed a sitter at Northampton, not really done anywhere near enough to think he could be an effective starter at a higher level. This is first season in ages we will be starting a season needing to improve to even hold our own. We need better players. Burstow for me is not a bad player but equally is not really good at anything, not tricky, not that fast, does not hold up the ball that well. He is young but next season I think we need experience or players that can be effective starters from day one.
  3. It's not political, it's just a statement that we show respect to everyone regardless of their gender, sexuality, ethnicity , religion , age , disability . I see nothing wrong with that , I applaud it .

Burstow would be a no from me, seen enough to suggest he's just a OK league 1 player

Fancy singing a player with more championship experience than the rest of our team put together.

He's free. He's experienced at this level. He plays in a position we need strengthening and cover. He's not our marquee signing. Have a Solero and shut the f**k up will ya.

That's where I'm at. If we're signing a striker, it has to be one better than what we had in L1.

He's only 22. Bags of potential if we can get him at a cut price.

Hopefully turns out to be a solid Mike Whitlow type we had in the past. Underrated, unsung, solid pro that every side needs.
  10. Fueled by the internet linking up all the pubs mad bastard's. Back in the day Mental Brian in the Hare and Hounds would chat shit and folk would nod and smile and pretty much ignore him now all the Mental Brian's from every pub can connect and convince each other that their mental bollocks is based in reality. Egged on by grifters and foreign based bots so you end up with folk in England flags taking the knee in police stations wearing body cams for their 'auditor' internet profiles.

Davies is an interesting one. It all depends on something none of us can predict - will he remain fit enough to contribute in the majority of games? If SS/FH think he can then that’s good enough for me. Burstow, for me, would only be a yes if he was was a lot lot less than the £2m Hull paid (completely fished from thin air but £500k or less) and on the basis of him being a squad player. I still think he could be a useful sub, with time also (as a 22 yr old) to develop and better himself. He’s not up there with Kenny as to someone who I think could be signed as a primary striker for the championship.
  13. It's your generation that are clogging it up. Old duffers being kept alive beyond their natural demise, in order to give them enough energy to spend their final years screaming about "young, fighting age foreigners" who inexplicably also require constant medical treatment.
  14. You do realise that would include yourself as well? It's like everything really, the vast majority are sensible and well behaved but there is always a minority that spoils things for everyone. The problem with social media is not providing a platform for everyone but rather people believe any old shit they see wanting it to be true and being too stupid or lazy to check out if it real is or just lies (or half truths). Then they get 'fed' more and more by the algorithms that 'drive' social media, of the stuff they 'like' until all they are 'fed' that exclusively. They end up in... An echo chamber: is an environment—such as a social media feed, online community, or specific social group—where individuals are primarily exposed to opinions, beliefs, and information that reinforce their own, while opposing views are minimized, ignored, or excluded. ...and are surrounded on all sides with... Confirmation bias: is the psychological tendency to favour, seek out, and interpret information that aligns with your existing beliefs, while ignoring or discrediting contradictory evidence. It acts as a mental filter, shaping how you acquire, interpret, and remember information. The end result being people are in effect being 'brainwashed'., manipulated, played, controlled - call it whatever you will - but the end result is that people just see one side of the story and reject out of hand anything different to their now set in stone belief's. Brainwashing: is the systematic manipulation of a person's thoughts, beliefs, or attitudes. Its Primary Characteristics Isolation: Cutting a person off from former associates, independent information, and reality checks. (basically what Confirmation bias is all about). Repetition: The relentless reinforcement of a specific doctrine. (basically echo chambers do). My advice if anyone is interested is basically disbelieve anything you read on social media until you check its authenticity for yourself first. (that btw includes everything I say too).

Yeah I would agree with most of the verdicts, it's a fine signing and one in happy enough with. When it comes to the defence as a whole though, Christie triggered an extension but I hope that doesn't dissuade us from signing two new right backs, I would also look to get a bit of money for Toal and add another two CBs on top of Davies signing. I'd loan Temple and Inwood out to get some football league experience as well ideally. I believe we are also after an experienced left back to help out Conway. Not Matt Targett though.
  16. More likely given Restore a boost, which will fuck Reform up. Hopefully
  17. Signings like this bring me back down to earth about how difficult our task is next season.
  18. Then they would be 'asylum seekers', not "illegal immigrants", and they'd be processed accordingly. If you voted Leave thinking it would end these basic human rights (for some nonsensical reason), whilst also owning a property in the EU, you fell for the propaganda and properly fucked up. I'm sorry, but complaining about the added obstacles after voting to bring them in is fucking hilarious.

I think Burstow has ability but is probably a couple of years off being good enough A no from me

Think this potential Ben Davies signing would be a shrewd one. On a free, decent pedigree, and an upgrade on the left side of the centre backs

i really hope so, but they'll just dish tickets out to locals etc hope this is the first and last 48 team world cup also fear it wont
  22. So its 2026 - its been 30 years since Euro 96. Which means we are now equidistant from the song Three Lions since when we won the world cup.
  23. I agree with everything you posted but I think you can and possibly should also see when someone is telling a little joke and treat it as such. There's plenty on here never mind across the rest of the UK and world, who didn't and still don't understand how social media works and how the algorithms are designed to "feed" you what you want to see and hear. Add in that lunatic Musk with X and it shows how dangerous it can get. That is why good honest journalism is still very much needed today.
  24. How refreshing if that is the case! Bye bye League One!
  25. Sluffy you’re giving me a migraine mate And I thought my posts could get long. We don’t need half the Oxford dictionary included with every post.
  26. Yeah, that ITV studio is absolutely top.
  27. Who decides who should and shouldn't be given a platform? Lots and lots of nastiness on it, but leave those bits alone. However, at what point is the "moral outrage" simply a tool to be used by those who don't want their narrative challenging? The very essence of why the country is where it is currently.
  28. Reform and Restore are both corrupt. Harbone and Delo are both in for 25mill, no wonder Nidge is proposing a reduction in capital gains tax on crypto. Then Musk is into Lowe for £72k and about to increase... yet legislation foĺlowing the recent Rycroft Review has excluded donations from social media platforms. All incompetent and dishonest in my opinion and a massive enema is needed.
  29. Mixed feelings on this one. I was callng for solid Championship experience and this lad has it in bundles. The fact he made little impression in a relegated Oxford side last season is something of a concern. His recent nomadic existence is also a wee bit of a cause for concern . Still, as others have said, if Rangers and Liverpool signed him there was clearly something ticking boxes with the lad. Let's hope it is still there. I do have a feeling Davies is a Richard Taylor rather than a George Johnston replacement. We need a lot of new defenders. We obviously released Johnston and Tutu but also sold and never replaced Forrester and Dacres Cogley in Janury. We went in to that play off final with five fit defenders. To be frank we skimped on the defence in the last half of the season and were lucky not to have a bad run of injuries in that department. Time to end the neglect re the defence. We need quality and depth.
  30. Do you reckon we will get a tune out of him??
  31. Jenryck and Suellas involvement really does not help Reform here. Buying second hand does not always work.
  32. The message didn't get through to Bolty unfortunately... ...or Athy White Love you both back. x
  33. You do realise the rule was already in place before the Brexit vote don't you? We hold ALL the cards! 😁
  34. Was it meanderson who gave this info ? Good work , now whos next ?
  35. Especially given Sharon's pre-match 'don't be a dick' announcement, messages for all communities within the BWFC family are to be expected and encouraged. And the comments that crop up on club posts about these topics show that these messages are still important.
  36. He's on the payroll of Israel and Russia, that's clear, yet millions seen to hang off his every word, and consider him a "patriot" - it's all very odd
  37. Really not sure on Burstow. Solid/good player last season and contributed to promotion. His lack of pace in the second half of season worries me though. Running in treacle. Unless he was carrying an injury or something I think he would struggle to make an impact in the championship. Even if he was “only” £1m I think we can do better. Would love to be proved wrong mind you. Of the two I’d also have Kenny all day long if we can.
  38. I like Mason, appears a good lad, good team member and has some good attributes, but I do feel top end of L1 might be his ceiling. When he came he was keen to indicate he saw himself as a no9, yet when he's had to play the role when Dalby's been out he hasnt been as effective as him. If we were able to get Kenny back for anything like similar money or on loan again it'd be him over Mason all day for me, offers us pace in behind defenders and pressing ability we didn't have before he came.
  39. Think our medical team showed last season they could make players more robust. Tutu definitely springs to mind. If they can get the same out of Davies then he’ll definitely be an asset
  40. madness this really needs to flop to save the tournament going forward
  41. Evidence > Emotion, mate.
  42. It doesn't suit people's agenda.
  43. Indeed, they're bent as fuck FIFA.
  44. Obviously never been to timewarp 😁
