I'm well(ish) thanks, and my partner is recovering from breast cancer surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The operation was at the end of June 2022 and the major treatments ran from that October to March 2023. I just don't have as much free time as I once did!4 likes

Superb night's entertainment, can't remember the last end to end game like that full of chances and shots on goal by both sides. A breath of fresh air to play a team that wanted to come at us, I'd forgotten what it was like to play on the break a few times instead of always against a blanket defence. Best I've seen Vic play, superb. Tomo outstanding as everyone has said, and Sheehan in the 2nd half looked every inch championship quality. Maghoma too, superb 2nd half. Very poignant and appropriate tributes to Iain Purslow pre-match and at 71 minutes, well played the club.2 likes

We were fantastic in that 2nd half, if you didn't know you would have thought it was a competitive match between 2 league rivals, not a League 1 side against a Premier League side. Also partially content that we're out of the cup to help our promotion push for the rest of the season and fixture congestion. But we can take a lot from that performance going forward. I think we will thrive in the Championship and above with Evatt at the helm, he just might know what he's doing that man. But for now, let's get out of this horrible league, it's going to take a lot more skill and ability, but also just as much of doing the ugly side of things at small, tight pitches. Onto Leyton Orient now on Saturday who will certainly ask us to do the following in order to beat them. COYWM Rest in Peace Iain Purslow2 likes

Firstly the grooming gangs in Rochdale etc were not Asian they were Pakistani. (Mainly) there is no evidence of such abuse from the Indian community. The abuse is not isolated to one town which strongly implies that this is a cultural thing that happens on a regular basis from a very specific demographic. Having worked in Bradford where this demographic is very prominent it is very reflective of an attitude within Packistani males that white girls are just something to practice on. Whilst the vast majority do not go to the extreme that a small but significant minority do, this attitude is there in plain sight. The idea that Tommy discovered this is simply not true. It was already known about and reported before he got involved. But he certainly raised the profile of it to some. In Rotherham it has been acknowledged that sensitivity over race hampered the enquiry, to deny that is hiding from a really important issue. To be clear Tommy is no hero in this area. His self promotion and to be centre of attention nearly led to the collapse of one trial and gave the defence something to use to try and get these bastards off or at least lesser sentences, this was despite Tommy being warned by the judge. If he is going to shine a light on abuse when it is brown on white, ignoring white on white makes him as bad as those who ignore it the other way round. Casino is right to point out that despite these high profile cases most abuse is carried out by white males. But what is unusual in these cases is that one demographic (Packistani males) have targeted another demographic (white girls). Whereas most abuse is for want of a better expression 'like on like'. This can be debated as long as you want but if on the one hand (or 'side') people ignore what is there in plain sight and on the other side make no comment when the ethnicity of the abusers does not fit their wider agenda no one is solving shit. The good news is that behind the headlines and included (albeit through slightly rose tinted glasses) in the report there is a lot of work going in across authorities and communities that starts with the victims to get the fuller picture. Of how and when grooming gangs of whatever background target and exploit young kids. If you look at the reporting of this even now it is all about the abusers with little or no regard for the victims, that needs to change as well.2 likes

The Tories have allowed it to happen, they donāt care as long as executives get their bonuses. Every public service is worse than it was 14 years ago.1 like

This recent report is actually about the way that child exploitation has been dealt with by GMP, not Pakistani Muslim grooming gangs. My point is that if we keep concentrating on the specifics of the grooming gangs we are missing the point of the report and nothing changes.1 like

Itās wrong that VAR was used in the first game but not available in the replay. Surely it would be fair to have it in the whole tie.1 like

It's typically a Mirpuri / Punjabi cultural issue A statistical representation of the number of perpetrators with heritage from that region of Pakistan would likely be quite revealing As to the point about vulnerability, I think it's important to note that if these girls weren't vulnerable enough, many were made more vulnerable still after being deliberately plied with drink and drugs by these predators1 like

Again, complete deflection. Of course their culture has everything to do with it. As in the culture amongst Pakistani male muslims based in town centres across the country. Its in their culture to view young vulnerable white girls as trash and treat them as such. Its also in their culture to close ranks and protect their own. Its every bit to do with culture that the problem is allowed to manifest and breed like it has. Just have a look at what happens to anyone that dare to challenge them ffs.1 like

Iāve been on a few child protection courses over the years and one of the big deals is identifying those youngsters who arenāt given the right emotional support at home. Theyāll often look for such emotional support elsewhereā¦ anywhere! Now, if Iām being taught to recognise these things for the right reasons then Iām fairly sure someone could learn these things for the wrong reasons.1 like

By dragging their feet 2 or 3 years ago Everton managed to get a points deduction AFTER the season ended. So they have form oin foot-dragging manipulation. The EPL need to be aware of that and not allow lawyers to play these games again. It does seem they're trying to do that.1 like

Why's TR getting the credit for exposure when Maggie Oliver and others did all the work? Seems to me it's more pathetic pointscoring on the Internet. Once again.1 like

Astounding that the police and other authorities were so frightened of the 'racist' label (which cunts like Cheese spout every five minutes to try to close down debate) that it was seen as a lesser issue to turn a blind eye and let them bang away. Not astounding that the usual suspects on here immediately mount a rear guard action to defend or deflect by way of highlighting what 'whiteys' have done. Some of this lot on here must have some sort of mega guilt complexes about racist behaviour they have engaged in in the past and are now trying to over compensate? How else can it be explained?1 like

... apart from look behind his to see where Traff was, then back into him without any effort to go for the ball, then bang him with hip/arse. Yep, keepers are over-protected. Yep, Trafford needs to own that space. But is WAS a foul by today's standards.1 like

Its been mentioned elsewhere but lets try and keep all this respectable. A nice mention before the game and a clap on either the minute the game got stopped or the poor fellas age. Nothing more needs to be done. No playing in black, no songs or chanting. Lets keep it right. We arent scousers and we are not grief junkies. All about dignity, respect and class.1 like
