Think it’s obvious now why Bod hasn’t started many games, he just doesn’t fit our play at times and is deffo an impact sub.

I thought the opposite.  He was a shining light in the 1st half, along with Maghoma.  Fully justified starting and if Charles puts in the open goal he's made a huge contribution to a goal, but aside from that the ball stuck.  2nd half couldn't get a sniff like the rest of the team and whether it was Bod, Vic or Gudjonson up front we were deservedly beaten.

It's unfair to say our wingbacks are poor.

We play in a certain way, and teams occasionally cause us problems by getting in behind them, and then getting at the wide centre half.

It is a feature of the wingback system, and maybe on occasions, when it is evident that the opposition is doing well against it, we need to consider a change; toughen up in front of the back 3 perhaps, or even a change of shape.

I think describing dacres cogley as poor is very unfair. Even Randall. Dacres cogley been very good this season. Randall hit and miss but neither are poor.

Average League one. Nothing more, nothing less.

Team plays well. you dont notice their limitations. Team plays badly, they get exposed more.

Meltdowns all over the shop, Christ.

Portsmouth were brilliant after Dion's sitter. Sloppy first goal to concede, and Yengi was excellent. Haven't seen Santos struggle like that for a long time.

Still in the automatics, still plenty of games to play. It's far from over, fucking hell.

Frustrating but not a lot between us and PFC. Williams is piss poor and Sheehan hasn't been allowed to get on the ball.

Bod has been more noticeable and is a bigger presence then Vic imo.

LB&RB seems a concern this season. Bradley is back from injury and would be upgrade on any wingback we have ... another loan maybe?

Got to say ... second half was shite, showing no attacking urgency and the subs made no difference.

On a positive note, first lose since 7th Oct.

Games in hand over those below us.

It might do given how capable we are of going on a long winning run

But the better teams, by definition will also be capable of similar won't they?

If not, then they're not a better team because they will be losing to lower teams, which ultimately means we will have gained the requisite points, and deserved it.

We've beaten Stevenage, Derby, Wycombe, drawn with Oxford and Peterborough (with 10 men) and lost to Pompey. All teams in and around the top at the time we played.

Long unbeaten run included games against some of these. The worse results came against lower teams.

So long as the team gets back on the horse at the weekend, we'll be fine.

I disagree on Randall, well below the standard of a top half L1 team, I'd love him to play against us.

I'll cut Dacres-Cogley some slack, he's been a bit better, but seems to have more games than not when he just does the basics, its all predictable and easy to defend against.  I expected more, if we're playing wingbacks rather than full backs.  Jones was poor tonight but as a wing back has more to his game IMO.

Anyway I've now forgotten about tonight now, short term aim is to nail down 2nd place in next 2 homes.

Tired old cliche

I prefer, they outplayed us

Absolutely.

If this was to be repeated over the next few games, then we could justifiably ask if one or two had let their standards slip.

It's been one game, against a good side. IE and the players wont be happy and nor should they be.

It's not the time however for such doom and negativity.
