The only hope I’m holding onto is that sheff utd lost their first few games and went onto win the league, Derby last season took a while to get going.

I think we’ll be fine when it all clicks, the sooner the better for evatts sake

No one forced him to pass to no one, he had options either side

He's got one on the left, but he's closed down quickly, on his right foot, and I reckon he wouldn't be confident of getting it to him.

Wider point is though, that leaving a central defender to pick passes through to a minimalist midfield is asking for trouble.

He'd be better going long, and others looking to pick up loose balls.

We had this last year, but at least one more midfielder to occupy the opposition.

He's always the one to start things off, and it becomes predictable and easy to play against.

When it goes to either of his defensive partners, they're no better with their passing.

I don't think it's fair on the lad, and won't be doing his confidence any good.

As I said before, it's division 3 football, and a difficult way of playing, with opposition managers readily combating it.

The calls to sell him are unfair in that regard- could say the same about all the defenders.

If you cant see that Mcatee is a player there is no hope for you

From seeing him for other teams he has looked good .....for us so far he has ran about like a headless chicken and then shouts at nothing when he fucks up.

Disagree , he played some really  nice stuff today , was working at providing . It will click . Took Collins a few months to set in too .

Took Anelka 10 Games and Hierro 2 months.

You can.

I don’t get this viewpoint, as if there’s a large majority who are unintelligent happy clappers, who won’t accept opinion or a negative post.

I’m about as positive as they come on here, but always with pragmatism, realism and an openness for different viewpoints and debate.

We are massively missing Maghomas influence from last season and this 3 forward line that hasn’t scored in 180 mins of football isn’t working.

Evatt has some big questions to address and needs to find answers quickly.

I think that's the understatement of the year 😀 And that's said in a friendly/none argumentative way!  I don't think @Jol_BWFC was aiming his comment at you, probably more at those that can get aggressive/ sarcastic if any alternative view to their's is offered, those that are incapable of reasonable debate.  I think most if not all would say that's not you by a long way.  The openness for different viewpoints is the giveaway.  That doesn't mean I agree with everything you post by any means!  Long may it continue.

Evatt has been found out, press the defence and we’ll make a mistake, if we don’t, then we’re too slow to break and the opposition have loads of time to get back.

this group of players should walk this league but not with the current system which the manager is unwilling to change.

I do think we either overrate our players or underrate the opposition players at times.  I have hardly any knowledge of Huddersfield and Birmingham players for eg, why would we think our players should walk a league with teams in it we haven't seen yet?  Would our wingbacks get into any of these teams just as an eg?

.... when the opposition dare have a go and not give us the respect we (as in the players) think we deserve

Touches a raw nerve with me that. I've thought for a long time we don't give the opposition enough respect - after all, there's 11 of them up against us and nobody gets bragging rights until the game is over. And who doesn't want to try their utmost to bring cocky bastards down a peg or two? We went through a period of starting really slowly - almost arrogantly - and rode our luck. Arrogance has been our downfall in the past yet it doesn't seem to change.

When you have an arrogant Manager then it will obviously rub off on the players.

Yeah, I agree

We have a good squad but "walk the league"?

Nah

Really can't be arsed with it all going bent at the match.

Thought of Evatt out and the probable infighting fills me dread.

Not a place I want to take my kids either.

Won’t get like that. Just not the same. Megson was poison. Not close to that or McFarland before that.

I‘m not sure if you misinterpreted my post or me yours. But I was (am) a big fan of Maghoma. Had some disagreements with MK over it. I agree with JR’s post and the last 2 paragraphs of yours. I’ll take your word for the middle para… 😀

Perhaps I misinterpreted then, I just thought the “you can’t say that on here” comment was a a bit generalistic.

I’d be surprised if anyone can be positive after that!

A few will be sad but for many it'll be a relief. It'll quickly be forgotten when we don't have a spineless performance

Definitely end of the era vibes so far this season. Parting of the ways should have been after the playoffs, for the benefit of both the club and Ian himself.

I feel more sorry for you. I was the same 10 years ago as the group positive man. It hurts a lot more when you genuinely believe.

As bad as the start has been this year no one has been promoted after 3 games. See I still have a bit in me😂

Nathan Jones took over Charlton in Feb24

Michael Duff took over Huddersfield in May24

both those teams will be slugging it out for top 2.

We’ve got Evatt with his team 5 years in the making.
