And if anyone says "everyone was shite", they weren't watching Matete.  Annoying when everyone gets tarred with the same brush just because we've lost, he was outstanding.  Strength, composure, tackling and got fouled countless times, got up and went back for more, best player on pitch by a country mile.

He was certainly a level above the rest of ours, put a good solid shift in. One or two others did little bits here and there but it was at least a 'majority were shite' day. Way too many of ours want to live off a good 20 minutes or a couple of eye catching contributions.

I thought my eyes were deceiving me when I witnessed Santos take a Goal kick in which he passed it backwards for our keeper to boot it long. When he did it again for a second and third time I realised it weren’t my eyes.

Does anyone have any idea of the logic behind that?

Can't believe we paid money for him. No better than Kachunga, Dan or Bod

Reserving judgement until we actually pass the ball to him / into space for him.

Done to piss of the fans?

Evatt ball in 2176?

New years resolution to be even more bizarre?

Currently watching "Fringe". It belongs on there.

Perhaps the logic was to try and draw one or two of their forward players to the ball. But that’s pointless when the ball is going to their back 4.

Maybe the plan is draw their players to the keeper and try and create a gap for a pass to midfield; if a gap doesn’t appear, go long to avoid Huddersfield #2.

Did exactly the same last time he played

Sheehan was out that day, too

I think we just consider Southwood more likely to pass it out well into midfield

Agreed Matete looked the most assured but I thought Lolos looked decent too it was just the other 9 plus subs who were shite.

The genius of Evatt. Draw their strikers out and hit one of our lot who none of whom can head the ball or hold it up

We were not that bad today. Total lack of confidence sees players scared to take risks.

Dion misses a sitter , if that goes on we could win.

BUT it is the same story for last 12 months.

First half was good going forward i thought until the important bit.

2nd half, someone mentioned how Mansfield sat in a bit .

I think they did because the first half was so open.

So we had loads of ball, but always wanted that one extra touch or just one more pass.

I know I harp on about this a lot, but just fire in early crosses.

Division 3 defenders, turn them around enough and they'll mess up just like ours do.

Ah well,on to Exeter

McAtee looks like a brainless fool. Terrible signing

Spends most of the game throwing his arms in the air and blaming everyone except himself.

Must of learnt that from Jones and Cogley. We’re probably the best in the league at throwing our arms pointlessly in the air.

Teams dont come out now, they just sit deep.
