My concern is still our lack of cutting edge and whilst I think we’ll match them for football I just don’t think we’re in the same league up front. We certainly can win it but I fear we will again miss our chances and they won’t. Alfie may ? Their main 2 are out for a while and I just seen thay there keeper went off injured late on yesterday. Hopefully we’ll put in a top performance, keep our discipline and come out the other side with 3 points and no new injury concerns. Also looking forward to seeing what system and selection Schuey goes for. It’s nice to know that the opposition doesn’t know in advance and has time to prepare for it. Yes, it seems obvious to not make it totally clear how you're going to set your team up every single game, even though we were good enough for that not to matter in most games against lesser opposition. Now we have a proper manager it doesn't feel like we're starting these bigger games with one hand tied behind our back, looking forward to a rare "free hit" home game. Quote

onefinfrandsen Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Like to see us have a go at them, they haven’t been tested to much this season. Quote
Moderators Popular Post Zico Posted March 2 Moderators Popular Post Posted March 2 Is it balls a free hit We should be not going into any home game expecting to be beaten A win world be great and a draw would be a good result They have injuries But we're both in good form, it's not like they smash teams off the park on a regular basis like we did in 96/97 Free hit bollocks Quote

My "free hit" reference was because its a game against a team we can't catch, so not a 6 pointer unlike anyone else in top 10, its a game we aren't all turning up for thinking we just have to play half decent to win. We are all hoping for a win, not many are expecting a win. You say "a draw would be a good result" - that sounds like the definition of a free hit doesn't it? As in, a win would be a huge bonus rather than an expectation. Agreed they don't smash anyone off the park, we've got every chance, I'm thinking same as @tomski, they are due a narrow defeat. Quote

I presumed you meant it the same way it was discussed when we went to their place as in it doesn't matter if we lose because we're not expected to get anything from it anyway cup games against PL and Championship teams are free hits league one games when the aim is promotion aren't Quote

Admittedly I'll be gutted if we lose at home on Tuesday, as compared to losing at St Andrews when let's face it we'd lost it before KO. And yes a draw wouldn't be a bad result, I honestly can't remember the last home game in L1 when fans generally would think a draw was a good result, I know I've never thought that in any season we've been going for promotion, not even Pompey last season. Anyway, 1-0 to the Whites. Quote
Lostock Whites Posted March 2 Posted March 2 I think free hit given the circumstances to a small extent, but you're right for sure. Regardless of their league position or financial backing, we are a bigger football club than them, despite whatever they believe. We've won more, spent more years in the top flight. Either way, should be a brilliant atmosphere, but nothing to fear, let's go for it. Quote
Popular Post batton carrier Posted March 2 Popular Post Posted March 2 We are Bolton fucking Wanderers. We should never be looking at a home game in the 3rd tier of English football as a "free hit". Quote

Lostock Whites Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Noticed they have a few injuries, their main right back and goalkeeper who have been pivotal to their success. Also Stansfield might still be out along with others. Still have a stacked squad but definitely gives us a boost. Quote
matty2094 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Noticed that in their last 2 games, these 2 challenges have received straight red cards. Both harsh for me. Quote
deeane Koontz Posted March 3 Posted March 3 (edited) The second isn't harsh. Lunge studs up and followed through on tother mons ankle. Asking for a red these days for that Edited March 3 by deeane Koontz Quote

However, segregation might impact on that. it does seem a little strange, given we’ve had home fans in the South, all season. Home demand is likely to require this. Perhaps about 800 home fans next to the Crazy Corner, with a couple of hundred lost to segregation. 5,500 in both ends minus any segregation so sounds like a "full" end . Quote
