Either way the defence is basically what its been all season (no reinforcements), and why wouldn't it be, it doesn't need to be improved especially at home, we've hardly conceded any. I think the chat was about making us more potent up front. The 2 big changes for this week are CBT and Apter for Gale and ACD - 2 good signings, hopefully an upgrade but they are hardly replacing poor players. Not sure why "no Sheehan or Simons"? Sheehan a must for me, and Simons interchangeable with EE, neither are consistent but are great on their day. McAtee has played the last 3 games, and we've seen the improvement, long may it continue. Yes SS does have more options up front once the new players are integrated, for this week we might have to be patient. If there are changes compared to Wimbledon I'd expect it to be the tried and trusted that have played loads. Think Data will decide that. Conway i imagine will play away at Lincoln, SS may give him another week rest We have a squad and options now for more than one system Quote

barrycowdrill Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Conceded 32 in their last 12 these men. Average of over 2.5 a game. so it’ll inevitably be a low scoring one… Quote
W.cramp Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Actually looking forward to a Barnsley game. 4-1 victory, we all go home/pub happy and a couple on here moan that we conceded 1. Quote

Would be nice but I’d be happy with any win, any way. Good performance and no injuries would be the icing. Quote
Whitesince63 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Well defensively Barnsley aren’t the best and the keeper is a big concern to them so we could be catching them at just the right time. I was surprised how much they capitulated the other night when Northampton made it 2-2 and they could easily have ended up losing so not wishing to be over confident because Barnsley do still carry several threats we could come out of this with a comfortable win? boltonboris Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Any win will do... I think it'll be a tight affair. 2-2, or 2-1 us. I think there'll be goals (nostradamus, ere!) Quote
RUREADY2ROLL Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Doesn’t look like Kenny or Rodrigues will be included and Sheehan won’t be risked so it’s same squad as last week with Conway still not fit Quote

He's played 4 times since May Quote

boltonboris Posted February 5 Posted February 5 The starting XI from Wimbledon deserve to stay in the side. They've also had a week to recover with an extra day off last week I've no problem with the same line-up and I think it will be just that Quote
meanderson93 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Left back does concern me with Conway still not back, not because I'm one of those that thinks Johnston is one of our worst ever, but I just think it leaves us very imbalanced. Not least against these as well, I know they're in a bit of a rutt and will be reeling from the Keillor-Dunn sale, but their strength is definitely on the wings with Cleary and now Banks added. Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Having read the BN, there is nothing that states Conway is definitely unavailable. Is there another source? Quote

desperado Posted February 5 Posted February 5 I’m predicting a low scoring victory. But because people have been lulled into a false positivity that Barnsley are rubbish, our new signings will score lots of goals and we are due a convincing win, this thread will have an imbalance of negativity and we’ll be reading more about what the problems are, how SS should fix it and how some players just don’t look good enough. Rather than celebrating 16/18 points and another home win. Quote

Rather than celebrating 16/18 points and another home win. There you go with your usual negativity! Get with the programme. We're a different team since we struggled to get results at home over the last couple of months. You're not taking into account that we've just signed the EFL equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters. They'll be strutting their stuff against a Barnsley team who are conceding for fun, have just sold their only decent player and are 14th for a reason. Turn up, sit back, and watch the annihilation unfold 😀 Quote
