The news that Liverpool had been fined £200,000 with a £100,000 suspended came out for fielding an ineligible player in the league cup came out just before last nights games . Don’t clubs usually get thrown out of the competition for this ? I know I’m bitter and paranoid but a fine of £100,000 to Liverpool really ?

I'd 100% expect expulsion. One rule for one...

Mitigating factors apparently!

There's always mitigating factors. We are told "if in doubt, keep them out". It's that simple.

Absolutely.

Not read what these factors are, but it seems a bit too convenient.

Fairly sure Bury got kicked out of one of the cup contests a couple of years or so ago. As was said, one rule for some...

wasnt that our under 18's though ?

Indeed it was (4-8) but it fits the question. Btw Bentaleb (Algerian World Cup player now in Bundesliga) played and Winks came on as a sub for the last half hour.

I just didn’t like when the fine was announced 30 minutes before kick off on a champions league night . Came across to me like they were trying to lose it in the maelstrom of a busy nights football . You don’t get a fine like that if you’ve done nowt wrong .

So that's your 'second team' is it? No doubt you will also be cheering on those cheating Patriots from the same area too?

I don't follow a load of yanks doing some semi-homosexual acts (then falling asleep - me not the inflated yank poofs)

Last gasp winner for Wolves at Besiktas.

In other news Roger's lot got away with 0-0 against AZ - best they could reasonably hope for with no shots on target.

You're a bad, bad man Mr W. 😂😂

I think yanking is most likely your repetitive pastime.

I think Liverpool had asked the FA to re-register the player after he had been on loan abroad. After 4 months or so the FA hadn't got round to it. Liverpool assumed the re-registration was completed but confirmation had gone astray.

Not as bad as Barca's £250 fine last week for tapping up Griezmann.

They could have called to the FA instead of assuming. Never their fault.

Worth pointing out that Liverpool would have been dealing with the EFL rather than the far-stricter FA.

Surprised they came to a decision on the punishment so quickly.

I think Liverpool rang them and suggested it. 😉

The match wasn't in Alkmaar. They are playing their Europa matches in Den Haag, about an hour away.
