frank_spencer Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 And yet trippier was one of our best players last night. Southgate did nowt wrong yesterday and has yet to do anything wrong in his time as England manager.

frank_spencer Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Agreed Respect him for trying something different Chelsea play with a full back as part of their 3 all the time. With 1 of the 3 having licence to get forward at anytime it makes sense to have good footballers back there.
Moderators Carlos Posted June 19, 2018 Moderators Posted June 19, 2018 Big thread about Tunisia game above.
mannyroad58 Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 I want every England player to do well but FFS Sterling is dog shit, his finishing is terrible, he constantly falls over with the ball at his feet and when he does stay up he runs into trouble, virtually every attack that went to him broke down, should've been taken off at half time. Rashford all day long in that position
worthy10 Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 You know how it is when you don't like a player. That's Sterling for me.
Whites man Posted June 19, 2018 Posted June 19, 2018 Every Workd Cup needs a scapegoat and it’s clear who this tournament’s is.

I think most people are calling it like it is with Sterling & would love him to succeed, unfortunately last night was pretty typical of his performances for England.
gonzo Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Great piece by sterling. https://www.theplayerstribune.com/en-us/articles/raheem-sterling-england-it-was-all-a-dream Fair play to him
Moderators Casino Posted June 22, 2018 Moderators Posted June 22, 2018 Nice piece Still struggles to kick it straight

stevieb Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Nice. Got a recommendation for a book off here, think it was about stats and scouting from Garrp. That book was big on sterling being the next big thing.
madthatter Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 (edited) Every Workd Cup needs a scapegoat and it’s clear who this tournament’s is. Not sure I'd say he's a scapegoat but he's not doing enough for me - funny that 1000's think the same . . . I can see why Southgate gave him the nod today (for confidence) but he isn't impressing and should have scored that header. Got away with it but goes without saying that can't continue. I'd replace with Rashford and see if he can make an impact as a sub from now on. Edited June 24, 2018 by madthatter

madthatter Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Thought he played well today to be honest. His pace was always a threat. His pace is always a threat it's what he does with the ball at his feet that isn't I want him to do well and don't dislike him at all, just think the pressure/expectancy is getting to him at the minute and a break would do him good. Either way I think Rashford is a better option and would have said that before a ball was kicked.
Didledee Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 (edited) Played a big part in our 1st half, if not for the interplay/assist for Lingard, but for his movement. Should have scored yes, but at least he's getting himself in scoring situations. Think he'll be better vs less defensive teams, but I wouldn't expect him to start v Belgium Lovely bit of movement and pass that led to another Lingard chance, but Jess's shot was blocked Edited June 24, 2018 by Didledee
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 24, 2018 Site Supporter Posted June 24, 2018 Also gave away a good number of fouls. At some point Rashford will have to be given a go or it might damage his confidence. Ultimately, I'm confident Southgate will do the right thing for the team.
jeep Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 I followed him today, he doesn't look interested. Drop the cunt, and play Rashford instead.

tomski Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 He made some superb runs in some blistering heat yesterday. He is creating/making chances for himself and others. Keep him in for me. The goals will come
L/H White Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 (edited) is starting rashford over sterling the answer? I was all for it, but thinking on, i believe Rashford is more of an impact player from the bench when i've seen him start for club and country i dont think he's as good Edited June 25, 2018 by L/H White
madthatter Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Millions think Pizza Hut is ace but it’s not. It is to them
