There are going to be a lot of people (>50 bracket) who survive but are left with life changing conditions. A number under that age too. Quote

He received a £1,000 fixed penalty for it yesterday. He states that keeping a fitness centre open actually impacts the NHS in a positive way by keeping people fit, etc. He also stated that schools/colleges/universities account for 35% of cases, pubs/clubs/restaurants 25%, gyms 1.5% of cases. I guess he has a point. More so now that Lancashire are in the same but different level 3. It's a cumulative effect though, on the economy and the infection rate, which he doesn't get. Using the figures above, If I go to just school/uni and the gym, as opposed to just school/uni, my chance of getting a case of covid doesn't increase from 35% to 36.5% - it goes to 87.5% However, the difference between the effect on the economy of shutting schools compared to Gyms woud be massive I think. If the govmt can get the R rate below 1, whilst keeping schools and essential services/work open they will do that - everything else will go beforehand, in stages, until they get there. If they end up with the r rate still over 1, schools and unis will go. Edited October 16, 2020 by peelyfeet Quote

mickbrown Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 (edited) Just seen that if you think that all these PPE contracts being handed out to mates without tender is slightly dodgy, you can complain to the Government's Anti Corruption Champion (yep, that's a real thing). His name is John Penrose. Dido Harding's husband. 😀 Edited October 16, 2020 by mickbrown Quote

Spineless and yes rotten I think it’s a good idea, philosophically; trying to be collaborative. In practice, not so easy, dealing with people who are quite different. Quote

I assume you logged your test result in the app? It's probably a(nother) glitch with the app Quote

But then the missus got it Wasn’t sure if my isolation time started again and was 14 days from her or my original 10. Friend of mine has been told yes, but my bro in law who is a nurse practitioner sent us a link and says no, stick to my original 10 days Fuck knows Quote

It's perhaps the fact that you could be transporting freshly shed virus from your wife on your clothing/body when you go out that might make a difference. Might raise a few eyebrows too, if others realised you were from an infectious household. Quote
