Roger_Dubuis
The Sun - The Premier League are looking at restarting the season on June 12 - with games set to be held at 12 neutral venues The clubs have agreed with police advice that the chosen venues should, if possible, be away from congested urban areas. no club will be allowed to play in their own own home ground in a bid to equalise the unprecedented scenario. The clubs agreed to meet again next Friday, 24 hours after the next lockdown announcement.

Members Rudy
A bit on how many staff stadiums require UEFAs medical guidelines stadiums need to have ambulances in place 2 hours before a game and an hour after it, and one on standby to arrive within 10 minutes if required Doesn't really seem right to use the NHS resources

Site Supporter Steejay Posted May 1, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted May 1, 2020 This season’s done. They should just start discussing final league positions or voiding the season. Fuckin hell, Brexit negotiations will seem simple compared to what’s coming.

birch-chorley
Aye, Prem clubs may be desperate for behind closed doors, but multi millionaire prem footballers may not want (Or need) to participate Aguerro said as much, think Ronaldo has said the same to Juventus Not sure the likes of Sky, BT or the foreign TV companies will be happy paying top whack for rights if this continues. An ‘expert’ on SSN today talking about 12-24 months without mass gatherings. With big stars missing, no fans in the ground, nothing to play for in most games etc - They viewing figures won’t come through and the networks won’t get anywhere near their money back

tomski
Behind closed doors, neutral venues. It’s all a bit embarrassing the need for a return so soon. Surely this blows the integrity bollocks argument out of the window.
snowball
Chris Kamara bleating footballers are being singled out and no way should they take pay cuts. we should be grateful they pay so much tax seems to be his main argument. They are going to kill the golden goose (if it hasnt died already). these increasingly desperate attempts to get premier league re started everyone knows its all about money. going to turn a lot of people off this. It's far enough away from residential areas as well. It could be a nice little earner for us.
Leyther_Matt
These neutral venues are far more likely to be training grounds. Multiple changing rooms, multiple pitches and generally much more secluded and less accessible than the stadiums.

That’s true and also they are looking at grounds away from city / town centres such as Brighton and Southampton so we fit the bill

Up to a point I know you can use cranes, whatever, but theyre going to want cameras everywhere Maybe easier to use proper grounds

birch-chorley
I can understand why they are looking at behind closed doors, if they wait for mass gatherings to get the thumbs up / the turnstiles to open then it could be 18 months or more Apart from a small % of very wealthy players at the top of the game, the rest cant lose 18 months of a short career. Likewise most the clubs are looking down the barrel at financial ruin without some sort of income. The Sports media and their staff will need something to broadcast or they will be fucked as well I think behind closed doors might have to happen but it won’t be pretty and it won’t get anywhere near the sort of TV audience that they are used to getting. Also the whole worry about players getting ill etc Might work better with a series of smaller regional ‘friendly’ tournaments rather than trying to get a season finished and a new one started out under these circumstances.
