SatanGreavsie
Crap day (actually it was a good laugh - and caught up with a lot of old faces - right up to kick off). I think it was the heaviest ever club defeat at Wembley at the time (joint with Forest stuffing Ipswich 5-0 in the Community Shield back in the day). MancWanderer
Kids n flids on a rickety coach. No booze all day. Some dick smashing up the seats just behind us. Nothing went right that day. Relegation day at Stoke was bad enough but this was a different level
Burndens Bogs
A small part of my love for the Whites died that day, the way we just lay down and died hurt me bad, luckily our current crop has helped restore it, till today obvs. Edited April 17, 2021 by Burndens Bogs

tomski
The cup was the one I’d always wanted and was devastated at the time but it’s been devalued so much in recent years that I look back and it barely registers. As a few others have said it was an ace weekend football aside so that may help as well. For example getting pumped by Accrington Stanley 7-1 sits worse now. Underpants
I'm a season campaigner in relegations, heavy defeats & playoff heartache. But FA Cup finals are something I have no experience in at all. When their second went in you just knew it wasn't going to be our day. Because of the opposition this had embarrassment as well as ultimate disappointment written all over it. It wouldn't have been that bad if we had been thumped by the same score in the final.
Roger_Dubuis
I was convinced during that successful season, well until early March, thar Bolton were a one man team (Holden) and because Holden was injured expected to lose and didn't make the trip.I swiched the radio on about ten minutes in and it was 0-2.Just another lost cup tie sat home for me.
