The major objective for me yesterday was to try and prevent Luton and Plymouth making the play offs because I believe they’re head and shoulders better than any of the other three. In the end we fluffed it and those other three did the job for us so no damage done. It’s disappointing that we didn’t secure a second leg home tie to complete the job in front of our own fans but I’m still just as confident we’ll beat Bradford over two legs anyway. Bring it on now, what’s passed is passed, we’re the best team still in it despite our defensive issues so just let’s go now and prove it.
  2. I disagree what is tiring is watching us throw points away in games we should be winning or at least drawing. Season started at Stockport where we were as good as them but lost and ended v Luton where we were the better team and lost. I posted last week ‘another game where the best team drew’ so many examples in the 18 draws this season. It has been the same story week in week out, yesterday typified our season , 24 shots to their 12, we had 12 on target they had 5, but scored 3 and had a penalty saved. We go again next week and hopefully we can find that clinical ability to turn good chances into goals. It has to click soon.

Correct and also another reason why Sheehan plays every game. He looks after the ball better than anyone else we have and he "wins" the ball back more than his fair share of times. Maybe not as a tackler, but by reading the game and cutting out the pass or by covering behind the defence when they've attempted to get in behind the full back for the eleventieth time.
  4. Multiculturalism hasn’t been forced on this country… Many of us don’t give a shit what colours of skin & cultures we see in our day to day & just crack on regardless . We do have a very serious problem with Islamic extremism & complete lack of control of our borders. You can want brave policies to address those without blaming multiculturalism. And all the bigots using these issues as an excuse to tar all Muslims & immigrants can fuck off . They’re part of the problem .

After Cissoko ripping Bradford last week I would be surprised if he didn’t start.

The obsession with preventing a pitch invasion for this specific game was really weird. I'd genuinely question whether anyone who thought it was ever a remote possibility - let alone when we lost - should actually be involved in running the club. How clueless and out of touch can you be.
  7. Saturday night means the kids aren’t in school the next day, which will help. Last home game of the season. Massive match. £20 a decent adult price and £5 for kids is great. We should be selling out. I’m planning to travel up from London with my 9 year old.
  8. Yes! That's the spirit. Nothing to fear from Bradford. Let's fill the place and get them beat.
  9. We had about 22,500 home fans yesterday. Think we can shift the lower south stand similar to Barnsley game. Actually looking forward to it being 8pm on Saturday night, under the lights, it's going to be bouncing. COYWM. 3rd time lucky, it needs to be our time now!

The home game against Bradford will be (barring injuries)the same team but swap Bairstow and Conway for Dalby and GJ
  11. If they gave us what we had a week ago and we gave them what Luton had yesterday then both stadiums would be full, no season ticket holder would be inconvenienced and more away fans from both clubs could attend. Dunno why club's tie themselves in knots looking for pseudo 'advantages'.
  12. Plasters job If you dont get your Conners / joints Right YOUR FUCKED
  13. None spring to mind. Starting the season with the dullest atmosphere of all time at 12pm on a Sunday and finishing with the drunkest crowd of all time at 8pm on a Saturday 😅
  14. A strong red dwarf insult

A keeper and at least 4 defenders have to be on the shopping list irrespective of what happens over the next 3 weeks.

There's more chance of Lofty the lion starting on the left wing than Conway. 2 decent runs foward 8 months ago doesn't warrant him being anything close to a left winger or decent wing back. He's barely capable of playing as a normal full back.

You said he needs to come up with another way to play or set up??? And then described a way we have played many times. Swapping Johnston for Conway is a change SS has done loads of times. If GJ is fit he's back in. It's hardly a radical change. Your making out like he's never done this before. Ethan and Simons have both been injured and haven't played for a month, you really think they are thrown straight back in for the playoffs? We can't play scared. We have to go at them the first leg and try and get a lead. We didn't get overrun by Bradford in midfield last week. We were fine. They are a hoofball team. It's how we defend set pieces and balls in the box that will be the deciding factor.

File McAtee under Gale as thick as mince
  19. In an ideal world, maybe. Personally, I don't want 5,000 Bradford fans drowning us out next Saturday.

We're not going anywhere, home or away, this season without Sheehan starting unless he's injured or suspended.

We’ve lost 2 of our last 11 away games, one of which was Cardiff (and the other on a farmers’ field). Our away form is not shite. We don’t win many away but I don’t see where this need for a 3-0 advantage comes from, we’re pretty good at not losing away from home.
  22. We've won two of our last 10 games and finished 5th. We've absolutely got a chance of winning the playoffs, all four teams finished within two points after 46 games. There's nowt in it. But it's the attitudes of 'everyone's scared of us, best squad in the league, should've won all 46 games if it wasn't for this that or the other, if we vaguely bother to turn up we'll batter everyone' that seem totally detached from reality to me. I've never seen a team given more credit for not winning games than this one.
  23. I don't think we're going to win the playoffs, I doubt we'll make the final. This team (even before Schumacher) has shown that they can get to within touching distance but can't finish the job. Games in hand to overtake Derby, fucked it; Got ourselves in a good position last season to get in the playoffs, capitulated; Got Lincoln in our sights, couldn't capitalise; Suspected Cardiff would stumble, they did so we responded by being equally as poor results wise. We're going into the playoffs in poor form having still not addressed the problems that have plagued is all season, we convert far too few chances and our opponents manage to score with a ridiculous percentage of chances. I hope I'm wrong. The only thing that makes me doubt is I bet all the other clubs that are involved fans are saying the same, to the least shit from now go the spoils.
  24. Spot on Starmer.
  25. If you name the meds you need I'll 100% be able to get em.

There has never been a pitch invasion in my lifetime, unless we have won promotion, avoided relegation on the final day, or got to Wembley. They just don't get it if they think it might happen after a routine last league game.

I got pissed off that it was him with the ball after the second attempt. He just wants to do the same thing every time.. curl it into the top corner. I actually think he's talented but unfortunately thick as mince.
  28. Same process as before - you can secure your own seats. Need to put yesterday’s disappointment behind us and fill the place. Let’s take a good lead over to Bradford. On the piss in the afternoon prior to an 8pm kick-off on a Saturday, should make it a belting atmosphere under the lights. COYFWM 👏
  29. If you are relying on a plasterer then you're well fucked. Answer to the problem... don't do coving
  30. 2051 we’ve given them..
  31. That's some statement. Our play of game at home to Barnsley was rammed iirc.
  32. We aren't shit. We aren't great. We might win, we might lose. Bring it on.
  33. If we expect to sell all three of our stands plus the full lower tier in the south then crack on. I don't think we will. There were 23k on last time we played a home first leg in the playoffs, and this one is at 8pm. There's nothing contradictory about saying we should give Bradford another 500 of our empty seats for 500 in return. We're a club that virtually never sells out at home but would take any number away. It's always in our fans interests for the club not to get involved in this daft tit for tat around allocations. And Bradford have taken this even further by inconveniencing their whole fanbase for it. How many fans are there from each team will make no difference to the result, but being there will make a difference to the Bolton & Bradford fans who are there to see it. People who've followed their teams up and down the country won't get tickets to the away legs for totally arbitrary reasons. And the fact supporters cheer this stuff in is mad.

But that's what he does. Despite the three at the back being most secure, with wing backs, he won't as it comprises what he wants up the pitch. He has had a season and a half to get it right and here we are? But it's the same bollocks as Evatt for me, just in a an alternate formation. We set up uber attacking, yet we are the 6th top scorers in the division and only scored 2 more than bloody Barnsley FFS! So the risk isnt worth the reward, and this was always Evatt's issue. One thing I would agree with SS about, at least the stats back up his philosophy, i.e. lots of chances which rarely was the case with Evatt. However after 18 months of the same issues and the infuriating monotone 'what needs to improve' rhetoric from SS. We never hear him articulate the 'how' he is going to change it. And the media chuckle brothers dont help, never ask any probing post-match questions, i.e. 'So Steven, for the umpteenth time your left back has been caught up the pitch and we've conceded down the left with a basic ball over the top, thoughts??' Grumpy as, bad week for me to forget to order my meds 🫪
  35. There won't be many empty seats. There wasn't for Barnsley and Saturday won't be any different. Be great to see fans in the south. Created the best atmosphere ever at the Reebok the other season. Be the same on Sat.
  36. Bromley is similar sort of trip as Palace, isn't it? Assumed it was a Gillingham type schlep until I looked at a map. And Cambridge is an excellent drink tbf. There are some great days out in L1!

And there's more chance of us not starting a goalkeeper than us abandoning wingers at this stage. Cissokho scored twice against Bradford the last time he played against them at home (yes it was the EFL Trophy) and looked like Ronaldinho the last time he played them away. He's nailed on to start next week and they'd be delighted if he didn't. The team picks itself at this stage. It'll be the side that started at Valley Parade with Dalby in for Burstow if fit enough.
  38. Just looked at who’s coming up from League 2. So far it’s Bromley, MK & Cambridge. Dear god. We really have got to get out of this league this month otherwise that’s 3 more awful away games in the middle of nowhere and 3 more awful home games with zero away fans and atmosphere. Forget Leicester & Sheff Wed coming down. Really crave for championship footy after the last decade, when every game will be something to look forward to.

Expect nothing to change Saturday....If we win by three then take the game to Bradford second leg by all means but if we are one up i would go to Bradford without Sheehan in the midfield but include both Simons and Erahahon....A defence which would be more rigid and go direct with ACD. Dalby and Kenny..... Who in the right mind changes nothing when it does not work........Not calling for major changes but for players to their jobs in their position.....I dont want to see my left back in Bradfords half for eighty mins when Bradford keep hitting it behind the space he keeps leaving by being out of position......Black and white i want my defenders to be facing the ball not chasing the ball You learn that at primary school

Watching the game yesterday Kenny needs to get hold of Gale and point out that instead of going for goal time and time again to look up and pass it to somebody who is in a better position twice yesterday he went for goal and Kenny was unmarked . Forino needs to point out to Conway to fecking make a fecking go at getting back in defence once we lose the ball he regularly saunters back as though he’s fecking Roberto Carlos and all our opposition know this is our weak spot.
  41. Crikey does this actually go through anyone’s thought process what Wigan fans think? Not bothered on the attendance as it’s a bit overhyped anyway and has made no difference to Stevenage, Lincoln and Stockport this season.
  42. I don't know why we'd bother worrying what they think

So about 4 times the number that stayed last season, seems like a lot. I haven't missed one minute of a home game this season, and it never occurred to me for a second that I might stay to applaud them yet again. How many claps do they need? How many claps do fans need? Its wierd.

If our players were as spineless as some of our fanbase we'd be relegated in January
  45. We will, mate. Trust me, it's ours.
  46. He's not brilliant, he's fucking dreadful. I've not read the 9 pages that have appeared since I left the home, so I'm possibly repeating others, but my take on today was that yet again we've beaten ourselves. I'm deflated this evening, but we're still going up. COYFWM!
  47. We're not We're experiencing the consequences of the political choice to pursue multiculturalism It can be argued that there are benefits to multiculturalism or even that it is in itself a good thing, but ethnic, national, religious violence playing out on British streets as a reaction to conflicts elsewhere is a consequence The behaviour of British people at the "protests" outside hotels housing asylum seekers is also a consequence And again, I mean multiculturalism as a political philosophy not simply having people of other ethnicities, religions, cultures, etc. as citizens alongside the British population
  48. Didn't spend a day in the top two all season and finished 16 points off second in 5th. "Not quite" good enough.
