W.cramp Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Looks like they are in a fair bit of lumber with the efl. They have been charged with 6 offences this morning regarding ownership details etc. Doesnt look to good for the tykes Quote
Duck Egg Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 https://www.efl.com/news/2023/july/efl-statement-barnsley-fc/ Odd this. They struggled to put a side out for a friendly last week v Workington. Cash flow problems? Quote
Biggish Dave Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Never mind hey - serves the bastards right for giving us a pittance of tickets in the play offs. If they are skint, they'll be begging us to take 5000 in October Quote
meanderson93 Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Wonder if they fancy moving Connell on then? 👀 Wouldn't be opposed to Kitching either, or their RWB... Quote
Wanderlust Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 The EFL charges came as a result of a Barnsley internal review according to the club. Sounds like a boardroom battle leading to a massive own goal. Quote
Johnnyrotten Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Didn't want to start a new thread, but if we're talking crisis clubs in L1...Reading transfer embargo lifted https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66174548 Quote

Whitesince63 Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 I certainly think this could be a case of unintended consequences here for Barnsley with the board reporting itself to thevEFL due to a split over who runs the club. Certainly they’re not happy over here about it even fearing they may be relegated although I think that’s just fear mongering. The ownership and shareholdings do seem to be a complete mess though and there’s no question that the EFL has been misled over their ownership rules so I can see a points deduction at least. Quote
