Bristol at home though should be a banker, get going for that top 2 again

Think we go overboard when we get a defeat ,I wonder if Portsmouth did the same when they got stuffed by Blackpool ? Let’s just get on with it and go on another run ,playing the same way that got us here in the first place .but we’ll always get the odd suprise defeat .

Sure we could get beat as we could in any game, but as I keep saying it all comes down to how we play on the day because at our best we can beat anyone in this league, including Pompey.

Which is exactly why it will be an exciting game tomorrow - will we or won't we turn on the style again? I think we will as the lads couldn't have had better motivation than the last time out.

I know lusty, even prior to the Pompey game I was totally positive bit it wasn’t the fact we lost but the nature of it and how soon we surrendered to a bit of physical pressure. Maybe I’m just being over pessimistic and I need to chill out on it but I just have this nagging feeling we’re going to slip up again. Hopefully not and we’ll be back on the bike again. 🥳

Second half was awful but Dion produced the miss of a life time and they scored from a corner after a blatant  foul was ignored. Shit happens in games, but if we go in one up it would have been a totally different game. 
Taking nothing away from Pompey who deserved to win but that second half can not be used to define our season. Let's show that tomorrow.

Think Sheehan missing for this one is massive. He was marked out of the game on Monday but at home, to a team like Bristol Rovers is the type of game that he’s too good for and generally just dictates things.

Dempsey has to be the obvious choice to come in, but I don’t like GT in that holding role, he isn’t good enough on the ball in tight situations. If it is Dempsey to come in then I’d rather see Maghoma drop into the deeper role and keep GT further forward - either that or Morley comes in as a straight swap for Sheehan (although he looked poor on Monday and would seem strange to leave the better player in Dempsey on the bench).

Still think we’ll win comfortably but I think it will have a bigger impact than most are expecting.

For me, you've highlighted 2 changes I would make but as a pair, not 1 or the other.

I would swap Morley for Sheehan as he's better deeper than Thomason and has been ok in his cup games - Monday was an off night like it was for them all.

I would also swap Dempsey for Thomason because he's a better all round player imo. This isn't having a dig at Thomason either, I like him. Dempsey though is just a touch better all round

thomason for much of his improvement is a liability with his bookings, take Monday absolute crackers getting booked so early on

I've just checked, the last time and only time the opposition in the league this season have had a red card, was Derby back in September

To be fair I’d do exactly that. For all GT’s improvement, and there’s no doubting that there’s plenty, I still think Sheehan, Maghoma and Dempsey are our best 3 and GT is first replacement for the latter 2 and Morley for the former.

No way Evatt drops GT though, especially with Sheehan out and I also don’t want to sound like I’ve got it in for GT because I’ve said my piece plenty of times (and to be fair to him since then, and since his move further forward, you can’t deny he’s a better player).

I just hope whatever Evatt does doesn’t end up with GT at the base of midfield because I think it’s the worst of all solutions.

Morley should be the natural replacement for Sheehan but he was so poor at Portsmouth that i'd bring in Dempsey, who isn't a like for like, but looking back to full fitness is too good to leave out.

They are away at Blackpool though next Sat and if they can afford only one then that will be priority for most I guess.

Wouldn't surprise me if JDB was back on the bench, despite his decent effort at Pompey - have a feeling Evatt might bring Vic back to do the hard yards for the first hour.

No idea how he'll configure the midfield though - should be interesting.

Our crap passing to him and failure to break the press meant he was hardly ever receiving it in space at Pompey, but this is hopefully a different scenario. But our passing has to be a lot better than Monday.
