The thought of maintaining an interest in whether it’s Crewe or Crawley is depressing

Sat here with my dad now just saying the same thing with the game on.

Contemplating Crewe or Crawley when it should have been Blackburn or Burnley. Football can be shit can’t it.

Luckily off to watch the lad play cricket in the sunshine.

Fuck off Bolton Wanderers

My thoughts exactly. Football can just fuck off until August.

Don’t think there is a lot of scope anyway to change much with the squad most have a couple of years on the contract . What have we got 3 out of contract and the loans returning

JDB and Jerome are the only ones out of contract, can't see either being kept

Charles will be off somewhere as soon as an offer comes in

Rico needs touting out, if we want to develop it's gotta be done as we can't have a player coasting,

new formation as the 5-3-2 just isn't working, yeah we're scoring goals but letting them in all over the show.

but we don't have a squad set up for it and we only one? (collins) player who can play as a traditional winger.

Perfect summary

It could be that Evatt has to go for this to change, or that we just need to sign an experienced midfield bastard and drop one of the 3 we currently have

position wise it should be Sheehan but I think he brings more to the game than GT

Magohma may not be here and he will be a big loss but if we start the season with Dempsey, GT and Sheehan we're going nowhere

I was going to write a post about GT but when I read it it sounded like a ‘I told you so’ and I don’t want that because I think my initial views were wrong on him.

Ultimately though I don’t think he’s as good as people think, his 21st booking of the season yesterday was not because he’s an enforcer it’s because he was a yard off the pace again and if we got a half decent offer for him then I’d be cashing in and I think we could invest the money to have a bigger impact on the team.

On the train back now after a performance that was all too recognisable this season contrary to IEs beliefs.

Yesterday showed us at our very worst, no fight, no drive and no ideas. Every single player went missing and the subs were bewildering. More often or not this team has proved they don’t have the mentality to win the games that matter and that can only change with a change in management.

Santos isn’t a captain and if he is still here next season, then the captaincy should be taken away from him. His constant pointing at others when he’s in the wrong is baffling.

We at times this season have been great to watch but this constant inconsistency when we come up against a team with a proper game plan just highlights how weak our tactics are and how we struggle to adjust in game to overcome it.

IE has reached his ceiling with us and it’s time for a change.

As an aside of yesterday, we were suppose to be developing youngsters to come through the ranks. Where are they.

Well if we are losing money and none are coming through, seems a bit of a waste having a B team, unless there is another reason for having it,

I don't know how much they earn but even if it's 1k a year and there are 18 of them its about a million a year in wages alone.. That said, I don't know how much they bring in, so might be a money maker for the club..

Not necessarily youngsters as that’s a lottery that costs a fortune. Plucking Toal, Santos and Thomason from nowhere and then selling them on for anything approaching a half decent fee very much fits the business model.

Which makes it all the more unusual the money we’ve thrown in transfer fees at Adeboyejo and Nlundulu in particular.

Evatt was rewarding players with new deals  pre Xmas like Morley and he never plays the guy can see it being tough to move some of them on to make any room .

It's grim as fuck. Accident on the M6 so hooked off on the A500. Think the wife is driving backwards.

Aye, I've seen more city fans in Euston and on the train than I do walking out and about in Stockport

Also amused me at station yesterday, ticket guy sparked a conversation as was wearing my top

Introduced himself as a "old school city fan" and going on about his experience of play off finals

It happens a lot, that's what they have to do this days, quantify they are a city fan with how long they've supported them

Couldn’t think of anything worse. Waiting around for the flight back last night was bad enough. Thankfully only took half hour back and sat on the couch just as the fight started. Waking up in your own bed is a very underrated privilege 🤣

I can pinpoint the moment our season turned.

It was Pompey away. When at 0-0 & we were outplaying them & Dion missed an absolute sitter.

Later we got the injuries to Baxter, Santos, Demps and Dion & we struggled ... understandablu enough.

We blew those games in hand. But the catalyst was that miss (&, no I'm not blaming Dion for half a season of mid-table outcome).

So glad the trains are running. Plain sailing both ways, pretty much for the first time all season ironically enough.

Players suppin beers in the stand was a terrible look.

You'd be thinking "you set of cocky cunts" if you were Oxford players. It's a nice bit of fuel

But we lost yesterday because our team are a set of minges who go hiding when it matters and have done so several times this season

Barnsley players did the same thing after the beat us last season

Didn't work out well for them either

The more I dwell on the season Evatt comments throughout the season yesterday and other games which just fold under pressure time he went cannot see him changing his tactics whatsoever .
Then I ask myself which manager would get us up?

Morley has a decent player in him, doing well last year and was rewarded by Evatt bringing in another player from another team that we develop and then they go..Meanwhile Morley has had a whole season of sub starts..

Same as what happened with Saddlier and Bradley.

Think we need someone who can help Toal develop as a player as he hasn't really this year,

and as mentioned, GT getting 21 bookings, vast majority for shocking tackles, leaves a lot to be desired.

Another example of, and there were many before and been a good number since, of getting nothing out of the games that mattered. The mentality and folding under pressure in the same now as it was that night and you can trace it back to well before then. Exeter at home in L2 for example..

yes there have been some games we have got through when the pressure is on but as has been said by many numerous times, the vast majority of times they bottle it.  Having the full team freeze time and time again is not by accident
