Shite but got the result

I never want to listen to Shearer commentate again

Who is the main commentator? Been listening to him for years and he winds me up - needs to go to Specsavers.

Foden's been honking tonight

Not gelling tonight.

Maybe hasn't done regularly for England.

Different wavelength/style maybe than with Pep- the little give and go movements at City perhaps aren't replicated with England.

Same issue as Wanderers. When the tempo has been slowed down, they seem incapable of picking it up again. Still. A win's a win and we rarely win our opening Euro match.

so much like watching us that.

Look great when opposition let us play, shite when they pressure us. And a manager who can't the make in-game changes to effect it.

Massive contrast second half between their press and ours (or lack of).

Gallagher, Bowen and Mainoo as your subs. We’ve clearly got some world class players, but the actual squad is so over-hyped.

Win is the main thing though, and the Serbs aren’t in the same category as some of the dross that have been beaten so far.

Fabregas made a good point. The difference between these players tonight and the top players is that they lose focus when the pressure is on them and they get complacent when they're winning instead of working even harder. They have the talent but mentality is the problem. Apart from Rice and Bellingham who were on it all game.

Add Walker to those 2, 3 top players and our best 3.

Kane was painfully slow and lumbering

If he's on crutches Southgate will still go with him..... He's an outstanding striker but tactically a liability, there's no out ball half the time because he comes too deep.

a tough opener like that much better than a walkover

Agree good test that. Defense stood up pretty well.

I actually thought Southgate got the subs right. Bowen added something different. Gallaghers energy was just what was required and Mainoo replacing the battered Bellingham

Absolute master of winning free-kicks though

Not supposed to be critical of Southgate’s subs (I don’t think his TAA trial paid off), and to be fair I think all 3 are half decent players, I just think it highlights that our squad has been over-hyped because we’ve got 4 or 5 world class players rather than any kind of depth.

Yeh agree with that.

Similar to the likes of France, Germany, Portugal, Germany.

Think this tournament will come down to whose world class players have the biggest impact.

Bellingham was just unbelievable today. So mature for a 20 year old.
