Thought fabregas made a good point,  it was said yet again that 'we have to find a system and position to get the best of foden' and quite rightly fabregas disagreed and basically said no, phil foden needs to find his best way to perform on this stage, the way you saw Bellingham grab the game in the first half and basically say this is my stage and you lot play to my tune, foden needs to do this.

I totally agree mr cesc

It might be bad management but going off that performance there isn't a good enough midfield there to win the tournament.

Because TAA is not a midfielder

Fuck knows why we don't play JB in the middle alongside Rice in a position he's excelled in at Dortmund

Because of the notion that JB must play further up you end up with two players out of position, Foden on the left and TAA in the middle who is basically an unproven experiment in that role and isn't the one which has brought him and Liverpool success

Not convincing but it’s a clean sheet & the 3 points

Spot on. The perfect start to the tournament especially with your other group opponents drawing with each other.

Serbia no mugs. Would not surprise me if they came second in the group.

Happy with the win yesterday. We rarely win an opener and groups are simply their to get out of.

Felt with all Serbias huffing and puffing they were never likely to score.

Agreed

Nobody but himself can take the blame for some of his passing & finishing last night.

You can’t pin that on the system or manager.

We’ll need him to come good if we’re going to challenge.

Videos on line of Serb fans battering the English - who were saved by the German police. Not a good look.

Hopefully an end to the trouble now & will probably be seen on the whole as a success if nothing more comes of it.

Unless by some miracle Serbia end up playing Albania.

The Serbs will have some serious hooligans in their midst & will have been fairly organised. Our fans can barely hold up their beer belly, let alone a set of fists. But like to give it all that when singing.

It’s all a bit pathetic really. The vast majority are just there to soak up the atmosphere & get along. As usual, it’s innocent people who end up being caught up in it all.

These Albanian fans are the worst of the bunch

Only the second time we've won our group opener

I am another dick for wokegate

Are you only papping about the Euros? The media are on about him winning all four of his opening group games or do you choose to neglect the World Cup (that's the one Sir Alf Ramsey won for us).

From what I saw last night, good solid contender but unlikely to win the tournament. Quarter finals most likely.

He'll be (finally) heading off into the sunset after this (hopefully to OT). I don't expect him to have a single piece of silverware on his managerial CV if he tries for a position in club football. Back room boy at the FA more like. Another of their automatons likely to be his replacement.

Footballers trying to influence elections. So passe. Five years after Rapinoe tried it in the USA.

Too much money has given all of them (including that cunt Lineker) an over inflated opinion of themselves. Wonderful player Mbappe - I can already see him parading with the Euro 2024 trophy.

I won't be having a pop at him for trying to get the best result for his tribe. Likewise not at Marine Le Pen for trying her best for hers. I just wish footballers (footballing authorities and managers) would concentrate on football and leave all this peripheral shite alone.

Said to stepdaughter watching it, could have hooked TAA after an hour, dropped JB back (he was already doing so anyway), brought Gordon on and moved Foden in behind Kane for rest of game. Gordon's ball carrying ability would have been an outlet and Foden might have got more involved as the link to Kane.
