If we do have to play with kids and flids, then hopefully the fans will realise the reasoning, and stick with it Crazy when if the sale had gone through in jan/feb they could of had a championship club! Pretty much agree with you though. Edited July 24, 2019 by tomski Quote
Carlos Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Remember when Lookman went to Everton for £10m and people saying we should get that for Zach Clough? He's got to Leipzig for £22.5m. (Lookman, not Clough). Quote

I didn't know he'd been over there on loan last year, and scored 5 goals in 11 games. I've just looked, and didn't realise how much younger than Clough he is, I'd always assumed they were the same age From when they were both transferred, how their careers have changed. Quote

Duck Egg Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Kyle Lafferty is available on a free. Could be the big lump we're probably looking for if the takeover goes ahead? Quote
Biggish Dave Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Can’t see us going after players who are used to being on big money. Bargain basement, promising kids and loanees for us Quote

Eavesy Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 I’m arsed. one of the brightest prospects in the clubs history. Gone for free. how much did Sunderland get for Pickford? £25m? That covers the clubs losses for 5 years. this is why the club is on its arse. We are dogshit at selling youth players for decent money. Quote
birch-chorley Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 Pickford wasn’t a youth player though Our bottle neck is bringing kids through that end up playing at a decent level Quote

Totally agree, some of our transfer business over the last few years has been rubbish. Quote

Mannyroader Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 Chris Eagles has signed for Oldham. Only 33, he spent 5 months last season at Ross County, signed by Owen Coyle. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 We fill plenty of youth squads but that doesn’t mean they’re going to make a living as a professional. Based on his recent loan spells, there’s absolutely no telling that Turner will suddenly turn in to a world beater. Quote
TrickyTrotter Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 Wish Turner the best but never broke through here, we had the keeper coach on the bench for half a season rather than JT. Loads of time as a keeper for him to come good though. Quote

Turner was in the same year as Jaaskeleinan and miles better than him. You can never tell for sure but he was the best youth keeper in the club by some way with all the tools to be a very good keeper. The keepers train (and sometimes play) up a year so my lad worked with both Turner and Will. Turner was a good lad so good luck to him. He didnt have much time for junior. Quote
