He’s looking strong and fit and up for the job. Exactly. 10 League goals in 35 last season, (Charles was 14 in 33, McAtee was 10 in 37).. This season looking more on it, and reckon if he's happy being on the bench and knowing he will be on at 60mins, we will struggle to get anyone better in this league. Inevitably one of those 3 will get injured, and we won't have a credible back up.. Interestingly, Transfer market speculate him being the 4th most valuable player.. Collins is 1st at 1.3m Schon at 900k Morley at 900k Victor at 850k. Quote
meanderson93 Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 I think there's options to reinvest out there. Someone like Miles Leaburn at Charlton only has a year left on his contract, could immediately reinvest the money on someone like that with a much higher upside. Again, I like Vic, don't mind him staying and think he can get 10-15 goals for us this season but I'm not sure his value will ever be higher than this window. Quote
gonzo Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Think you'll be hard pressed to find a clinical striker who wants to come and be second fiddle to 3 first choice men at this point. Quote

Good move for the lad that, hopefully can go and get some confidence back, that looks like the obvious thing lacking for him at the moment. Clearly talented but seems to shy away at times, hopefully Wycombe's physical playing style can get him back on the right track. Quote
gonzo Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Shame it wasn't permanent and get him off the wage bill. Good luck to the lad but we are punching at a different level now. Same as Sarcs and Doyle. Thanks but we move on. Quote
Wanderlust Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 I don't know who makes up the alleged "transfer values" on Transfermarkt but they are stealing a living - can't remember them ever being right and in most cases they aren't even in the same ballpark as the actual fees paid. A player is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for him. Quote

Spurious link but Goztepe have the same London-based owners as Southampton. Quote
jmjhb Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Goztepe got promoted this year to the Turkish top flight Quote

Interesting move that and hope he does well. Actually hope he does great and comes back to us and starts again but I feel that's probably us going our separate ways in the end now. Quote
frank_spencer Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Shame for Morley that his return the club didn't work out. Quote
radcliffe white Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 He has a decent deal until 2027 could very easily ride it out but I guess as a footballer you just want to play Quote
Casino Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 If he does well at wycombe and theres every chance he will, his value will increase He might even end up starting our first game of next season Quote
captainmed Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Oliver Norwood lives near me. Gone to Stockport 😳 Quote

Gone to Stockport 😳 Oi, we've got another thread for this 😀 Class player whenever I've seen him which admittedly isn't recently, but I always recall his name from scoring a 25 yard screamer to win it for Huddersfield here about 10 years ago under Freedman. I remember thinking we'd really come down in the world losing at home to them with the likes of McNaughton in our team. Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 That's a great signing for Stockport! Definitely a major upgrade on the Fat prick. I hope Morley's loan deal works out for him & ultimately us. He hasn't kicked on as well as I'd hoped, his development seems to have stalled, hopefully regular minutes will do him good. Can still Vic going unfortunately, which is a shame as he's looking fitter & better than last season, also had a good preseason. Probably an unpopular prediction but I can see Dan doing alright this season if he plays left of a front 3. He's not an outright forward but think he could be handy further out wide running at defenders rather than his back to goal. Quote
VividDreamer Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 Goztepe are one of those clueless teams that have cash to burn and will end up offering money for Vic that we cannot turn down. He’ll then be replaced with a highly rated target man from the prem on loan. Quote

What makes you think that he can run with the ball at defenders? I can’t remember him ever doing this for us but you might have seen it sometime when I wasn’t watching. Hope you’re correct btw. 😉 Quote
