Think it’s a bit of a shame how it has worked out for Morley. Hit some seriously high levels, peaking around the Papa John’s win, but just stagnated after that. Probably an argument that Dempsey and Toal are in a similar boat. Quote

He was OK but £1m!?!? Quote
Take Hunt Off Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I’m pretty indifferent to Morley leaving , always thought he had potential but has seldom shown any real form . Can’t blame him going through the motions last Tuesday either. Think we need a proper LB to give Conway a breather as a priority , Taylor doesn’t look up to the job. Ideally a RB too as Christie can’t last ninety minutes & Tutu has injury fragility. Asking a lot LB / RB & a striker , might get two out of three ? Quote

Farnywhite Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Sheehan injury must be cleared up then for Saturday Quote

Dempsey has had some rotten injuries since and that has undoubtedly played a part. Probably seen the best of him now, but still offers plenty for me. Not sure about Toal. Overall, our defensive record this season is pretty good, even if folk aren't convinced by any of our defenders. Quote

Toal needs replacing in the medium term , he hasn’t improved much Dempsey is very much a squad player so probably a keep. Quote

Deanu Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Good lad Morley & was great in his first few seasons but makes sense, never really been able to play with Sheehan as they both want to do the same job in the team & he doesn't really affect games when pushing forward more. Quote
Tombwfc Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I'd have told Morley not to try on Tuesday too if I knew there was £750k on the table for him. Been a good player though so I hope he does well. Quote
worthy10 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Great business for the club. I wish Morley well. Initially thought we had a real gem on our hands when he first came to us. But, I think he's peaked. Not strong, fast or skillful enough and can't tackle. Good pen taker and one of our better crossers of the ball. Quote

tshape Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Mate reckons we're after Ruben Rodrigues who was at Oxford. Quote

Marc505 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I like Morley too, scored a few excellent goals for us as well. Maybe didn't quite push on to what we needed him to be but definitely wish him all the best. Good business, and intrigued/excited to see what happens in the next few days now Quote
barrycowdrill Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Harkin saying we’re after 2 more if it is hardie and Rodrigues adding to the other 2 lads brought in the that’s a number of very good options going forward Quote
ianofcleveleys Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Liked Aaron, having seen a fair bit of him developing at Rochdale, not quite panned out as he and we'd have liked, for various reasons, but a good player who thrived there and no doubt will again. Says a bit that a different manager to the one who originally liked him also wants him at Wycombe. Very good business driven by Fergal, arguably more than we might have expected, giving a bit of freedom to go for whoever they have in mind before Monday. Quote
Blondi Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I think that's a very good deal for us re Morley, honestly thought we might struggle to get 500k for him, he's still only 25 though. Wonder what Wrexham value Hardie at? Quote
Arrested development Posted January 29 Posted January 29 He's definitely not kicked on since that loan and can't turn down 750k upfront. It's a good deal for both him and us. Quote
paulhanley Posted January 29 Posted January 29 It Iles is right and we got £750K up front that is good business having signed him for £75K rising to £175K.. I wonder if Rochdale get a chunk through a sell on clause? Quote

He looked a tidy player there and I’d have liked us to have gone for him then so if he is coming that perfectly fits the No10 gap. Quote
Whitesince63 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 (edited) If we are signing Hardie and Rodrigues and if as rumoured Wrexham are after Keillor-Dunn, could the McAtee move to Barnsley be back on? Maybe his energetic performance on Tuesday was intended to impress the buyers? Edited January 29 by Whitesince63 Quote
L/H White Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Happy with this His best spell while contracted to the club was while he was at Wycombe Great fee if true. We've had their trousers down Onwards we go Quote
