Wanderers Ways. Neil Thompson 1961-2021

The great win on Saturday has made us all feel a bit better about life but I still feel we're two players short going in to the September-January period. I believe we needed a RWB to contest with JDC and a player of the profile of Abdoulaye Faye who could play CB and holding midfield.

I appreciate all of the things folk will say about sustainability and the lack of the right options in the market etc. I just feel that those two additions would have given us that bit extra to make me confident of promotion.

Perhaps they'll arrive in January. Perhaps we'll have been fortunate enough to avoid injuries and suspensions in the meantime.

Good signing for Wycombe this, they’ll probably play him in his best position as a winger cutting in and if they do that I think he’ll do really well there. I just hope he doesn’t come back to haunt us when we play them. 😏

He will.

Fully expecting WycombeWays to feature a number of posts from a Bolton fan making him out to be a League One Messi in the week leading up to our game with them.

Always had him as a #10

Warren Blufitt will, since he seems to go on every opposition forum.

good player sadlier, unsure why we signed him as evatt had no idea where to fit him in his system

Strange one Sadler, often great when he came on as a sub but couldn’t seem to have the same impact when starting.

I'll definitely be doing that, whilst telling them how great they are and generally blowing smoke up their collective ass.

Absolutely enhances the experience of watching the meltdown as we cut them to pieces during the game itself. I'll be grinning like Dr Evil and calling them Amy.

Aye, good luck to him, good league one player I reckon when played in the right position

Same with John, be interesting to see how he fits in at Salford as they appear to play a back 4

Me too, even on the rare occasions he played on the wing he didn't look in the right position, not really got the pace associated with wingers but got vision and shooting ability to play as a 10, if such a thing exists any more.  (Kieran Lee too although he could play deeper and build in a similar way to Sheehan).

There’s a reason why Rotherham and us got rid, he’s not good enough.

100% correct, not getting the comments he was decent when he played for us, had loads of chances and was mediocre.

He barely had a run in the side in league games.

Very difficult to come in and be the dog's bollocks instantly, especially if being played out of position. As things stand Mendes Gomes hasn't done anything neither, but it would be utterly wrong to describe him as a bad player.

I'm not sure why Sadlier was signed to be honest, given the system we play doesn't necessarily suit him, but he didn't let us down in terms of goals when called upon.

There may be other issues we don't know about of course, but whilst he may not be a world beater, he's decent enough.

This. 100%.

Given UE struggled to make use of our best player, Dapo, as he didn't fit the system it was odd he should have doubled down on that. I'm sure he believed it could work.

Indeed, I'm sure he did.

It may also be a fact that the player realised he wasn't going to get time and decided a move away was for the best.

Evatt explained last season that the player had been to see him, and they'd had a chat.

He wasn’t given a consistent run he even played him at left back at Lincoln!

when he did play he showed much more than Dan the man has done fleetwood away being an example

Aye, always thought when he got a chance he did enough to warrant further chances and more game time than he did

Still not quite sure what nlundulus exact role is but he clearly does it well enough to get a contract and regular appearances

Just had a look at his record. 6 goals in 37 league appearances according to a couple of sites. Most of them from the bench.

Not half bad.

Anyway, he's gone now, best of luck to him.
