Ogbeta wasn't great. Better going forward than defending but nowt special. We need better wide options than him

Marlon Fossey I was arsed about signing perm, Ogbeta not so much. Seemed like a decent lad but very up/down in performance in our XI

I disagree, Ogbeta had chances to take the ball forward & break the stranglehold that Oxford had us in but preferred to turn back to our centre backs , as did Cogley to a lesser extent.

I blame our wing backs & midfield for the Wembley debacle much more than the centre backs who weren't given any options to pass to.

Whatever, i'm glad he's not coming back.

Rooney is with his 3rd club and Ogbeta is the first player he has ever signed. No big loss to us, hopefully it means we'll sign better for such a crucial position although I suspect it just means Williams reverts to 1st choice and maybe Ashworth 2nd choice should he sign.

It’s definitely not a negative and for me it’s experience we definitely need but Derbys experience was proven quality players whereas Rotherham’s in my opinion aren’t.

Be surprised if we sign anyone to be honest. With Johnstone back and Toals ability to play left side the 2 wing backs would be Williams and Iredale I would imagine. 
 

interesting what he does on the right side. Whilst he’s done it once it’s unfair to expect Cogley to play week in week out again. Jones can cover which I thinks his actual best position. Toal switch to the right CB with Forrester as support and then see what he does with Matheson

He will need to sign some midfielders and at least another striker !

I just mean in that area 🤣 numbers wise and to a certain degree the quality is there. Unless any of the 5 wing backs we have are moving on it isn’t an area that needs attention I’d of thought.

Yeah you are probably right regards the defence possibly another LWB as IE likes collecting them!

Are you sure? Toal’s inability to link effectively with Ogbeta and Thomason at Wembley, due to his lack of a left foot, was patently one of the biggest problems. Add that to Santos’ lack of pure footballing skills and the fact that Jones simply isn’t good enough at centre back, then the back three was the biggest issue for me.

If Johnson is fully fit for next season 🤞, then Johnson and Iredale should be the only options considered for left centre back, amongst the current squad.

Can’t see this has a lot to do with Rooney, more the data driven recruitment process club employs to try and find bargains.

Considering he’s played there for nigh on 12 months yeh I’m sure he’s got the ability to play left side. Has it impacted us? Yes at times. Like Wembley. However overall he’s done a solid job. Would he be the first choice when Johnstone is back? No. But that wasn’t what I said. I actually said Toal switch to the right…

As others said, he looked decent initially, then the same frailties materialised.

Both have played with clubs in the championship, and as yet, neither succeeded.

Not sure there's much of a defender in either of them.

In January we already had Williams, Ashworth and Iredale and still signed Ogbeta, I don't think Iredale is considered as a starter for LWB any more, the 4th option seems to be JDC to switch sides.  Iredale CB or on the bench. 

On Cogley, not sure how its unfair?  Toal, Santos, Charles, Sheehan etc play week after week, Cogley another of the automatic picks.
