We should try for Wigan's keeper just to get on their tits! 🤣

And because we need one!

No. Let’s stop this rival nonsense with them 😂

He got a mention from us over the play off final weekend (because Baines and some of the coaching staff jogged past).

Apparently very keen to keep playing - doubt he’ll look to move from the North West and he isn’t moving to another prem club. Pretty well known to be the best of the best in terms of squad presence / behind the scenes stuff. If his legs are still there then I’d have him in, although you wouldn’t be doing it if Christie is genuinely sticking around as our second right back, it’d be like Dad’s army down that side.

SS being an Evertonian may carry some weight if he was interested.

Could be the sort to pull others through though.

Saw this visualisation on X, thought it was cool to put a player into perspective. https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2Fcd7179f7-5028-4ef0-b7cc-dc2030150b00_1460x1715.png

so he's better at smart passes than short, medium or long passes

The graphic only gives you a general direction, many of those stats are heavily influenced by the fact Kilmarnock were in group b, by the 33rd game. Around our better players those stats would increase significantly, suspect he'll be a big player for us this season.

A perfectly accurate description and what many on here have also posted. Stating the bleeding obvious isn’t a criticism of the player as much as the situation he’s being found in. He clearly needs coaching on positioning which doesn’t in any way denigrate his obvious abilities. Of course I wouldn’t expect you or your cohort of little supporters to understand the difference.

Me neither.

Need a translator.

Based on the graphic alone without context it suggests he's not the best at passing through lines and splitting defences from deep, but will attack the box, take good shots and be fairly efficient with them.

Gets stuck in with the defensive work well enough and, strangely, a very good crosser.

Basically, a younger and hopefully better Dempsey.

Are you sure you’ve quoted the right person?! 😂

Thought I’d been pretty positive and fair on his contribution this season and what role he may or may not have to play next season 🤷‍♂️

No mate, sorry I used your post to make the point and you’re right you were positive on Max. 😕

So YOU are allowed to criticise young players and call them "a liability", but anyone else who does the same is "expecting too much"? Give over, you hypocrite.

this is why stats are slowly killing football...

So he's great at crossing, but shit at passing (unless its a smart pass), can't tackle or head a ball but is defensive, he's pretty average with shots, aside from when they're on target and he's a box to box midfielder thats naff at dribbling..

Just wait and see what's he's like when he gets here, reckon the lad will be ace, big shoes to fill etc..

Take it with a big grain of salt, so much of it is to do with tactics and the players you play around, this is just to give you a general feeling.
