Regardless, I think we can get as good if not a bit better for probably 60 per cent of the wages. His pay packet will have been a relic from the days of parachute payments. Different world now. Blondi Posted July 8, 2017 Share Posted July 8, 2017 I think the warning signs were there during last season with Spearing, I seem to remember him once saying after being pressed on signing a new contract that he'd got a young family to look after, in other words ££££. I'm not that fussed that Spearing is leaving, he's been a decent player for us, but he's certainly not irreplaceable and I think we can get just as good for a lot less money than he was probably after.
