Very characterful win. Exactly the character we didn't show when playing poorly early season.

We are right in the mix now.  A loss today would have been a real bodyblow for top three hopes but on we rumble. And the motley crew of lower league clubs around us will continue to be very worried about our progress.

Brought a little memory of that 2-1 win v Northampton four years ago when we were losing 0-1 and playing poorly. Morais and Le Fondre I think

10 wins, 2 draws in 12. From 19th to 5th. We need a couple of teams to fold under the pressure. FGR could eadily be one of them.

The old "winning despite not playing well" is proving to be correct. we need to start quicker & to have a Plan B but this is a strong & experienced squad now.

I certainly didn't see this happening in January.

I think ours was genuinely a penalty. Lee just gets there first and then contact is made.

Yeah ours was definitely a penalty. Theirs could have been too, would need to see it again. Looked a clumsy challenge but he was certainly looking for it.

Correct and Walsall can fuck right off if they whine about it (and they will). All they did at their midden and today was throw themselves on the floor and cheat basically. Someone grabs your neck/throat they are asking to be sent off. Soft penalty yes but again no sympathy for them. Scutters

I don't think we need to worry about Exeter/Salford/Crawley/Carlisle now. Newport lost 2 in a row and don't play the next two matchdays.

It was any 3 of 8 a week or so again, now it's probably 3 of 6

And if there is any justice, we'll carry on getting things in our favour for the rest of the season. 

Refs were appalling until suddenly the efl had to start looking at red cards.

Come on! We keep finding ways to win. Not at our best, rode our luck with some referee decisions that went our way. Doesn’t matter how the 3 points come. Big game against FG next week

For fear of sounding like a broken record tempo of our play is massively important 

Last week and 1st half today shows if we’re slow we get dragged down to a pretty average level and we’re not good / clever enough to break teams down like that. 
 

at this level moving the ball quickly and not allowing them to drop in to a rigid shape gets results. 
 

it might be a bit of give and take over the better sides over the next couple of weeks but the Colchester’s / grimsbys of this world that’s how we’re going to get the points we need

It does matter how the 3 points come though, we won’t always be as lucky as today. Let’s hope Evatt and the result don’t try to gloss over how shite we were today, especially first half.
