Just phoned for an update. All good. The nurse who answered the call told me the cordless phone on the ward is broken so she’s unable to take the phone to my mum.

Nurse then took a note of my number and next thing, she’s FaceTiming me from her own mobile so tonight I’ve seen my mum for the first time in a week. Proper above and beyond the call of duty.

Fantastic. A lot of the wards now have ipads to use for that. What would we do without technology eh? If you remember the nurses name you can always give PALS a little email. Not often staff hear the positives from family members 💙

Have sent an email. The nurse did say they used to have either iPads or laptops but she thinks theirs is broken.

I'm so sorry for Nana, MumD and hope they pull through, and my comisserations to Cheese and family.

I feel guilty for posting this, but after Mrs. Fogarty's fall only a couple of weeks ago, she has had her operation on her busted humerus and is home on the mend and so far we are covid free.

Don't feel guilty. Glad she is doing well

If you have a relative go into hospital who is elderly or vulnerable, please don't let them go in with valuables. My 92 year old Nans necklace has been stolen from around her neck. I am heartbroken and seething at the same time. She would give you her last £1 in her purse if you asked.

I've had enough 😔

Jeez that’s bad. Sorry for you.

Please consider reporting it to the police.

What a bastard.

Daft question maybe, but has it possibly been removed if someone gave her a wash, and put it in a safe place?

Dunno how these things work, but might be worth asking.

Given a wash?! You must be joking.

Nah its gone. I hope whoever took it gets ran over slowly by a double decker bus.

Only the lowest if the low would do that.

What do we think about free testing going

Im not arsed as i rarely test, but it feels a bit too soon

Ill pick up a couple of packs in the next few days

Been talking about it for a while now. Inevitable at some point.

That's in part tied in with the isolation requirements going.

If companies want employees on site covid free, they'll need to start buying them themselves.

Anyone know if British citizens need to fill anything in before returning from Spain?

@Mounts Kipper @Traf

Can't figure anything out online. I did a Spanish one coming out but no idea coming back.

That's if Storm Eunice doesn't halt everything tomorrow.

I returned from Fuertaventura last week and had to complete a passenger locator form. Link here tells you what you need. Think it still applies

 https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk

You don’t need to do any Covid tests any more tho so can check in without need for a code
