Room 101 he's good Really? I always see Frank as a stand up comedian primarily and a very good one at that. His observations are piss funny. The routine at the start of this thread is obviously from 20 odd years ago, how times have changed because he couldn’t do that sort of material these days. He's just a naturally funny man. 1 minute ago, stevieb said: Yeah Frank skinner I don't see as stand up but he's great as a show host. Room 101 he's good there's two sides to him The more recent radio and tv friendly funny guy, and the 90s smutty ladish stand up who does football, wanking and shagging jokes Me and my mum both like him but based on different material She loves the wanking jokes
Site Supporter Winchester White Posted October 28, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted October 28, 2021 Dave Allen was bloody funny, legend. Big Yin in his prime, as was Jasper Carrot for a spell. Bob Monkhouse was very quick witted, his off script stuff was much better than anything rehearsed. Sean Lock obviously but I also like the polar opposites of David Mitchell and Kevin Bridges. All his hair stood on end. Probably dead before he hit the floor. Even at about six years old I had a warped sense of humour. I didn't find him pegging it funny when it became apparent that's what happened, but I thought him keeling over was an inspired changing up of his tired act - maybe to compete with The Young Ones etc. Meant to be a complete wife-beating pisspot arsehole in real life. marple whites
Lee evans was brilliant when I went to see him live. Show went on for miles longer than Peter Kay, far better value for money and was in stitches.
Members Rudy
Lee Evans was absolutely mental when I saw him. Not sure how well it would have aged now but he was great at his craft. Not sure how I forgot Ricky Gervais. Genius of a man.
Whitestar
The best comedians and funniest people i ever met are all people I've worked with over the years, the type of comedy that is free every day of the week. Unfortunately these days it would not be accepted by easily offended types.
Members DazBob
Max's brother, who got shot in the arse by Paddy in Phoenix nights, is a very funny comedian. Based on the one night I saw him. Edit: Just remembered his name. Smug Roberts. Edited October 29, 2021 by DazBob
