Our record here isn’t as bad as I thought.

my last 10 visits, 2 wins, 2 losses and 6 draws (albeit one we did then lose on pens)

easy to overlook this due to the home game capitulations, but we gave them a good game last time and we were most likely to win towards the end

it was another game where the ref seemed set on scoring one for them

Saturday has sucked any form of positive feeling I have about games like this.

We just dont have the minerals.

Best footballing team in the league and we will beat enough go have a good go but we just haven't got the ball to turn up in big games when the chips are down.

We wont win here and we wont win at Barnsley or Derby either. We cant handle the pressure.

Sadly agree with tomorrow may be the exception. Let’s hope so

About where I am, more than happy to be proved wrong tomorrow and next week though. I didn't fancy us on Saturday

Sadly I agree. For some reason we get bullied in these games.  There are some good characters in there (Jones, Bodvarsson, Dempsey, Thomason) but collectively we are a soft touch.

Even though we are joint 2nd, it feels that virtually everyone expects and wants us to lose tomorrow. It's almost as if we are underdogs, especially after Saturdays horror show.

Wigan fans, Derby fans, Pompey fans, Barnsley fans. Referees have also been sending us off left right and centre, not giving us any penalties and giving the opposition plenty in the past few weeks.

It's very much us against the world at the moment and if that doesn't motivate the players, nothing will.

In both of the batterings from this lot and even Blackpool on Saturday, none of those games were we outplayed or dominated, despite the scorelines.

It's simply because the opposition have wanted it more, been clinical where we have been wasteful and also they've had some rub of the green.

Despite everything and all the negativity, Im genuinely confident that we will get the 3 points. It's all a mentality issue and surely now the players have been drilled in by themselves and Evatt of how to approach this game and what it means.

And the intensity and desire we need to show cannot just be for Wigan away, we have to do it in each of our last 13 games.

That means desire to defend, win first balls, 2nd, 3rd, desire to score, make runs, put a challenge in, stand on the ball when the opposition looks to take a quick free kick(Blackpool's 1st goal). Be intense and switched on from the 1st minute.

We make that shift in our mentality as well as play the football we are capable of, promotion is ours.

But we will see tomorrow if the players have really learnt or not

Bunch of fucking drama queens cause we lost at a place that we always have and always will lose 😀

Win 2-0 tomorrow, 4,200 whites serenading them off the pitch sitting in 2nd place and another 3 points to come from Cambridge at the weekend.

Soon forget about that dogshit covered seaside town and our weird mental block up there.

Hope your right Eddie; need Charlton to get something at Derby

Think we’re going a bit OTT with this “bottlers” tag.

We’ll know soon enough though with these next 2 Tuesday night aways.

I’ll admit I’m not confident at Derby but if we’re still on 2 points a game then, let’s see.

Easy to over analyse this but Evatt has repeatedly said we struggle in Transition.

So what this means is teams need to do very little to get on top, Blackpool did this. Let us have the ball and pass it about for a while but as soon as we lose possession which is bound to happen eventually fly forward into the space. On Saturday first half everytime GJ or JDC mis placed a pass they charged in behind them.

This led to first 3 goals. CMG gave ball away by their area ( maybe fouled) they broke and non foul by Sheehan was given on our right , we then switch off. Second goal we end up with Big Daddy playing right back. Third goal , give ball away and straight in behind us, keeper fucks up, Santos gives away a clear penalty ( unlucky red).

So if teams pressure the initial balls out and exploit our weakness in transition game plan pretty writes itself. This lot tomorrow will know exactly what to do, the sad thing is that despite highlighting the issue IE has not done enough to tackle it.

We just have to be good enough and by that I mean good enough to win despite bad refereeing calls, injuries and suspensions, freak goals/deflections, individual mistakes, tough tackling from the opposition whatever. I'm fed up with all the complaints and excuses - we simply have to be good enough to win even when everything seems to be against us - and that comes down to scoring more goals than the opposition which ain't exactly rocket science.

Agreed.

Obviously he has to have total belief in his system and methods to be able to get the players testing to do it.

Sometimes it's just not possible, especially in the third tier.

As we are losing some of these big aways, then maybe it would be a bit of a "free shot" to try a different formation: maybe an extra man in midfield, or 4 at the back, and 5 in midfield.

We can still play our passing game, but maybe offer something different for the opposition to think about.

Dion ruled out now, unfortunately.

Yeah, he misses some chances but he always gives 100% and would have been an asset for this game.

It’s unfortunate

however he had 1.25m worth of strikers on the bench Saturday time for others to deliver

I think we’re over exaggerating Saturdays result. Had we put away even one of those gilt edged chances it would have changed the game. Instead we switched off and paid the price. The ref was poor but no worse than many others we’ve had and you can’t really blame him for any of the goals, we just didn’t do our jobs. New game, different day tomorrow and a perfect opportunity for the players to get back out there and make up for Saturday. If they can’t or don’t do that then something seriously has to change to make sure it does.

If we don’t get a result what’s the ‘something seriously’ that you would suggest changing?
