anewman Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 He cannot stay after that pathetic sh1t show yesterday. id of sacked him at half time personally Quote
Eddie Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Move Evatt on, settle up on his shares, go and sell Rosenior the dream about the project and offer up those spare shares. New chapter Quote

Mannyroader Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 I've voted for him to stay; the penny must have dropped now; but if he was to leave Dean Holden would be a decent pick for me. He got a bit of a bum deal at Charlton and would get more time here to show his worth. Quote
L/H White Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 3 goes at league 1 is enough add that he can't even fire them up for games like Wigan Thanks and goodbye Quote

I voted Evatt to go because I just don’t see him changing anything. Even yesterday it was the players fault yet he had ample time to change it but did nothing, not even at half time. That’s not management for me and he has to go. He let a very average team completely boss us in our biggest day for years because they weren’t mentally fired up for it as Oxford were. That’s down to Evatt 100% for me so he has to go. Quote
Zico Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 I voted stay because when it's good it's very good And if he can learn from all if this we have the makings of a great side that will challenge for top two But the more I think about it the more I think he won't change a thing My worry is if we do stick with him and we don't go up next season we'll then have to start all over again with someone new and loads of new players and we could be stuck here for a while Someone needs to take this squad to the next level But if not him I don't know who, so sort of think he's our best shot at it Quote
Rizlar Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Just read in the BEN he’s taking a couple of weeks to consider his future and also to look at major changes with the players who may have to leave. Quote

Take a couple of weeks, then make a decision. Whoever is going to be our manager needs time to get to know the players and sort out incoming and outgoings. Quote
Biggish Dave Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Fwiw, I don't think we'll sack him. If he goes, it will be an amicable decision Quote
Ros Coe Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Dean Holden is a strange call for me, what has he done/achieved in his managerial career? I’ve read somewhere that he’s a good coach or number two.. 🤷♂️ Quote
Farnywhite Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 I think he probably has to go at the end of the day we were told at the start of the season automatic was the aim . Failed on that and had a second bite at it with play offs amd fucked it royally the other problem if he stays is there will be a massive hangover going into the season and a poor start from him the crowd will won’t him out anyway probably better to move on now Quote
Greg_BWFC Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Voted go. Sad to really as I'm a big believer in continuity. But I can't think he will change his principles. Anyway, I don't think FV will sack him, he'll walk. Think if they just run this back, apathy will set in with the fans as we can only see one outcome. Big decisions to be made. Been thinking there is more than one way out of this division 😟, need to get it right. Quote
Hoppy Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Evatt has done really well taking us over when we were in dire straits but I honestly think he has taken us as far as he can and maybe he also needs a new challenge, sometimes you get a manager in to take you so far then get a better manager to take you further I think that is were we r at Quote
burnden Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 He is Sharons pet project can't see her getting rid of him. I feel he hasn't learned much and is unwilling to change. Maybe time for a change ? Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 I’m 50/50 on Evatt… if we did replace skubala is a good shout. Quote
London Wanderer Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Wigan & Blackpool will once again be tough derbies. Plus Wrexham, Stockport, the three down from the Championship. Birmingham will be hard to play against. Barnsley & Posh will be up there, and given you’ll have another couple who will surprise. Just like Oxford did when we all wrote them off mid season. We will need to win well over half of all those games (twice over) to go up. Does anyone really believe Evatt is the man to orchestrate that? It will be some job if he does it via the autos. I highly doubt he’s the right guy after the last three seasons. Would love to be proven wrong. It might just be that this is a turning curve where he uses the anger to ignite something & adapt. If he’s stubborn & defensive then he’ll be gone by November. Quote
christopher.dod Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 After that display at Wembley its natural for us to want a new start. We have to remember that he is a relatively new youngish manager. His tactical knowledge is limited, but in spite of that the team has made progress in terms of how high we finished in the league. Some areas of the squad need refreshing and if he stays he needs to get on with that. He also needs to learn and coach different styles of play for different circumstances. Another year will give him the opportunity to develop as a manager. If he does and takes us up next season then i think that will be better than the gamble of a new manager. Quote
waffer cup 07 Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Evatt was a gamble, as would any other manager. A manager can be sucessful at one club, move on then fail at the next. Quote

He just got beat to promotion by a younger manager in his first job The one yesterday was also younger though arguably more experienced Quote
Zulu Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 I voted ‘go’ reluctantly. Rosenior would be awesome, if we could persuade him to come. I rate him highly. Quote

Roger_Dubuis Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 Good managers don't put out a performance like that in a play off final.24/25 will be a wasted season if he hasn't been moved on.The next manager should have a 3rd tier promotion on his CV. Quote
