I’d love it if we got a goal from an unlikely source. A Simons, or Conway etc. start spreading the goals around.

Of course you’re always going to have 1 player way out in front, but the good teams who are up there at the end of the season have chunks of goals from various players and positions.

Reckon Dalby starts tomorrow.

Especially as he was put up for media duties.

Let's hope we get some fucking crosses into the box from minute 1.

Knew a Cardiff fan at uni whose favourite player was Phil Stant, who is from Bolton and fought in the Falklands

Proper hard man apparently

Apart from Nathan Blake, Madine and that Joe summat we had, don't know much else about them

2-0 to us

Played in the same Lads club team as Phil...He was the only player who made a living from football

The manager was more useless than the rest of us he had Phil in Goal.

Used to play on St Mathews School on Sundays behind Skagen court as well where he never played in goal always up front was a unit and a dirty Bastard as i remember but  he  never stood out back then.

I caught the 501 bus from moor lane must be about 1980 and he was on the same bus He had been to the Army Careers  on Great Moor St to join up. His Sister was already in the Army......Never seen him from that day .

Played a lot with Blake at Cardiff i remember before moving back North and going to do well at Bury

I will always remember first game of the season we played at Ninian park we was sat opposite the ground finishing beers around 89. And there main crew turned up and 5 of of us were boxed in. Got a bit of a kicking but got in the ground just for kick off full of claret. I recall a 2-0 win s5and to be corrected Darby and Philliskirk. But a great day. Work in Cardiff now 5-6 weeks a year still hate these fuckers. They can stick there bucket hats and Welsh flags on there reg plates

Mates Mrs booked a weekend in a caravan without checking

So that's 5 not in attendance

Anyway

The arch enemy of @jeep and I had a chat with Phil Stant outside Su's chippy on Belmont Rd in the late 80s or early 90s. As that's where professional athletes hung out in those days.

Came across a really nice fella. Wanted to play for Bolton too.

He also needs to pop some away with his feet. It’ll be to easy for defenders if all we do is aim for his head. He’s done well given the injury setback for me, reckon there’s a lot more to come

Fair enough

Why change a winning team even though technically it wasn't the XI that won the last game

Yes most people around Halliwell or Blackburn rd knew him when he was growing up....Just watched that back when he returned to the Falklands......Showed him self in a good light. I do not know why but i am sure he was a red growing up

Can’t really complain with an unchanged side after a win. I would have liked Forino back in though for his size - I also think he’s been our best defender this season so it’s pretty harsh to drop out after 1 missed match.

Still think we’ll win. Big game!
