Football eh?

The difference in emotions from the 91st to 93rd minutes are ridiculous - nothing else can do that to you.

Other than the first 20 where it just fell half-paced, I thought we played really well - other than finishing.

We created enough good chances to win 5 games, just didn’t convert them (and should have had at least 1 penalty for handball.

EE was very good, Sheehan immense, Randall once again very good at getting in good positions but even better at wasting it from there, Gale getting better and better, Dalby with a really good cameo (and started the move for the winner).

Never mind beating them by more - we just needed to win, and we did, and if anything the team will get more of a buzz for how we did it in the end.

Cardiff beat Exeter by 1, Bradford beat 9 man Wigan in the last minute (useless twats) - just win it at this time of the season.

3 more points on Monday please, preferably in an easier manner so my heart doesn’t get years taken off my life and me and @Whitesince63 can get on

In which case lets keep papering over those cracks, painting over the paper, and watching it dry. You miserable whopper.

It’s neither miserable nor negative to face facts. TSL made two cracking saves to keep us in this when we should have been out of sight with the chances we had. Nombe and Hugill had two scoreable headed chances in injury time which clearly you missed. Fact is we should have been miles ahead at half time but for whatever reason we just fall to pieces around the oppositions penalty box. We should not be hanging on like that in games against teams as poor as Rotherham but if you think that’s ok then fine but you’ll be watching wanderers in L1 next season. Some of us want something better and hopefully next month Schu will recruit the players to deliver it.

Say what you like but Exeter and today is just get out of jail and papering over the cracks.

Can't understand why were not winning every home game by at least 5 goals.

You however generally seem miserable and negative. The fuck nut behind was complaining inside 4 mins today. Wasn’t you though, at least 45 years younger.
It wasn’t pretty, but we dug deep and got over the line.

Explain the cracks?

Instead of folk bitching, there is room for common ground for example I think that whilst we are all happy with getting the points, we can probably all see areas we could improve in. And we have a transfer window coming up.

I love the fact we won it at the death, but I’d probably prefer doing it with a bit less drama. My nerves are shredded.

In microcosm.

This game is why Josh Sheehan frustrates the hell out of me.

Taking everything else out of the equation - he was solid today (a good 6.5).

First goal seemed a bit fortuitous to me - I think he was trying to knock it into a dangerous area rather than sidefoot it into the net. But I'll take it.

Then the penalty. His decision making is absolutely woeful at times. That 2 year pass out to Christie in a crowded penalty box was stupidity beyond belief.

Then the third goal - I think he knew he'd fucked up badly - which is why he was harrying the goalkeeper at the start of the phase that ended up with the goal which he took well.

He arguably our most technically gifted player - but his footballing IQ is abysmal at times. If he had a brain he'd be a championship player at least.

And if you are one of the utter shitehawks who cheered when Randell got subbed off then I hope you catch Ebola.

Anyway - merry Christmas 😁

Gonzo I appreciate you as a contributor but if you don’t see that failing to put poor teams to bed and scoring late winners is ‘papering over the cracks’ then I’ve probably misjudged you

🤯 how people see a game never ceases to amaze me.

For me - most intelligent player on the pitch, reads a game like no other (meaning he intercepts a stupid amount of passes) and therefore pops up in the right position when we needed someone.

The pass was silly, agreed, but doesn’t help that Christie was asleep by that point and didn’t read it at all (we need a right back in Jan).

Not saying your opinion is wrong by the way, just find it mad that two people can see such a different thing.

Result was the main thing but bloody hell do we make it hard work for ourselves.

We spent a good half an hour in the second half passing between the centre halves and goalkeeper and then wonder why we end up under pressure.

I called the penalty two minutes before it even happened, wish I’d put money on it. Just sleep walked in to it again from sitting so deep and being so slow at getting the ball forward and retaining possession further upfield.

The reaction of so many to Randall’s substitution was ridiculous, I thought he was arguably our best player for the most part. Made some really intelligent runs and was the only one prepared to take a risk with a forward pass instead of forever taking the safe inside option.

One day Gale and Duberry will realise that full backs are terrified by their pace and actually back themselves in a foot race instead of forever wanting the ball played in to their feet.

Forss worked his nuts off but still struggle to see where he fits in to the system. Dalby was excellent when he came on and just showed the difference at being able to bring others in to play as long as they actually get within 20 yards of him.

Duberry must have seen the video pre match, channelling his inner David Lee with the sort of goal we rarely seem to score. Very much felt like a get out of jail but get another win on Monday and it sets us up nicely for another quick turnaround.

Schumacher took pantomine season literally and played six dwarfs against Jack and the bean stork men from Yorkshire.

A nervous opening 15 mins then it was a carbon copy game exactly the same as Exeter with us having all the possession and chances . Until Sheehan scored he was woeful and the best player on the park was Randall.

Toal and especially Johnston have been great defending but when they start the pep ball they are slow and ponderous.

The game changed when Erhahon went off. He does the simple things well

This league is poor and most of the teams are a much of a muchness but most teams have a Sam Nombe

Another win and we go again

Well, a win's a win, yada-yada-yada. We'd have drawn that last year, at best.

But our dominance was total for large parts of the game, we did all but score loads, yet we struggle to finish the good play.

Good to score two, both in added time. Gave a soft penalty away in between and could be two, even 3 points worse off.

We have to start scoring to match the build up play.

What a game ! a Proper Boxing day War of the Roses ! 1st 20 mins for them then constant pressure from us and well worth a half time lead .

Obviously they were gonna come out fast , Their keeper was great , Our keeper made 2 great saves . Ref let everything go and what a finish !

Whilst I still think we are a bit soft , that was a hell of a match and I really enjoyed it and celebrated the final whistle like a loon !
