Aye, a lenient ref might choose to let it slide, but reckon if they appealed it wouldn't be rescinded

Can't appeal a yellow anyway.

Looking at it from further away, just stop yellowing folk for removing their shirt- doesn't actually harm anyone.

Perhaps issue a yellow for celebrating for too long, or being a dick in front of away fans, but just removing a shirt is harmless.

It was originally explained as something to do with sponsors. Also, loads were wearing scrotie messages inderneath..

Either way, it's a rule, everyone knows it, don't do it. Not difficult.

A player (can't recall who) in the Premiership did it last year, booked, 3 minutes later fouled someone, sent off.

Re var

Somebody has a goal ruled out in the first minute, the ball doesnt go out of play til half time when var decides it was a goal. Do they replay the last 44 minutes?

I think VAR would notify the referee that they were checking the decision at the point it is ruled out and play wouldn't commence again until the checks had been completed.

A fair point, but tomski also makes a fair point. Just use a bit of common sense, rescind his yellow for shirt removal but warn him what will happen if he does it again.

I've never worked out why players remove their shirts when they score.  I don't remember it happening before about 20 years ago yet now they can't help themselves, just wierd.  I don't recall a BW player doing it, if anyone did I'd guess at Diouff.  I'd like to think we have more dignity!  I'm also proud that we don't sink to rehearsed celebrations.

Okocha had messages on his vest a couple of times (Boro on the last day springs to mind) but I’ve no idea if he was booked or not.

Found this. Apparently there is no real rationale for FIFA law makers, the International Football Association Board (IFAB) to have ever introduced the law.
