Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted February 13, 2017 Site Supporter Share Posted February 13, 2017 I like a beer as much as the next man but it isn't a problem turning it down for me - but I can easily understand it can does become a problem. Keep yourself away from temptation, easier said than done I know. Get out and about walking or down the gym etc. Â Best of luck with knocking it on the head. I'm sure it won't be easy but it's better than the alternative
jturner
Been there myself Youri, and not to belittle the problem, for me it was surprisingly easy to just give it up and never touch it again. The only really difficult occasions were works dos but im old enough to have got over that now, its over 20 years since I touched a drop.It wasnt even a problem the first few days, I was very ill and couldn't have faced any anyway.Going on a diet I find is harder, once you've eaten something which you have to do, the craving to carry on is there. With booze without taking any the craving soon goes and doesn't come back.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted February 13, 2017 Site Supporter Share Posted February 13, 2017 For different reasons (epilepsy etc) I've not touched a drop since January fourth last year. Occasionally fancy a beer, especially if wife is having one, but generally don't miss it at all. Â It is doable. Good luck.

MancWanderer
Good luck Youri. My only advice is get help when you get home. My brother in law left it too long and has been in a Priory Clinic for the last week. He finally saw sense and checked himself in but was in a right mess
jules_darby
We're all with you Youri ???????? Â Just think of the added benefit of not spending money on booze - you'll clear out the whoopsy aisle

gonzo
Get back, get in a routine and keep that mind occupied. Â Go running. Every time you crave a beer etc go for a run. If you still want one after. Go for another. Â Keep busy mate. You'll be reet.
no balls
Gonzo has it right. Routine and keeping busy are key to not falling off the wagon.
