Bloke who came round to ours to do the guttering at the weekend has rung this morning to say he's tested positive for Corona.  When he was here at the weekend the missus took a brew out to him and had a chat.  She'll probably get a call today telling her to self isolate.  Our next door neighbours have both just had it too.  It's really shit, this.

As an aside, also got wind last night of two different people we know who were showing symptoms but decided to go about their daily lives, nipping round to see friends/family, sending their kids into school, etc.  They chose to do this because "this whole Corona thing is bollocks".  One has been for a test and is positive, as is his wife.  The other isn't bothering going for a test because they're "not going to become a government statistic in all this bollocks".  I dread to think how many people may have become infected due to their selfishness.  I wonder how many people around the country share this attitude and have been doing the same.  

It's really, really pissed me off.

My managers elderly mum died over the weekend. She was in hospital as she'd stopped eating due to her dementia. She contracted Covid while she was in there, and it finished her off. Just been talking about it on the phone with another colleague, and she said "It pisses me off, because they'll probably register it as a Covid death!"..... I tried to tell her "But that's what she died of..." "Yeah, but she would've died anyway". Bonkers.

If your missue took a brew out she should be fine. 

PHE have said that the risks outside are extremely low, That's why sport hasn't been put off till this latest lockdown. The track and trace treats it differently. 

That's if he has Track and trace on, and your missis did.

He didn't have track and trace on as far as we know.  Because he's had a positive test he will be rung by T&T and they'll want a list of people he came into contact with, and my missus will be one of those.

It is, and we also know another person who came into contact with one of those who tested positive.  Obviously they weren't aware at the time, but they do know now but won't go into self isolation because they can't afford to take the time of work.  It's all fucked.

French o level you had to write a story about the six pictures and got marks for using ‘good’ expressions. They got list of these and learned how to build them in. We got nothing like that. For the Oral they were taught how to get the conversation into a specific subject they had learned to talk about. So if asked what have you done today ? You might say I had a history lesson and we discussed the Franco Prussian war ! Then talk about that and fuck off. 
He gave me this stuff when he finished I went from D/E to a B. No improvement in my french.

It is a bit. My sister and brother in law had two weeks of self isolation. Their two little ones, although testing negative had to stay in as well. Two lads, both under 8 and that's after the eldest had just finished two weeks self isolation as a kid in his class had it, so essentially the poor mite has been in school and seen his friends for just over two weeks since March.

Best preparation for French was going to stay in France on an exchange programme. Learned more in 2 weeks than in the rest of the 5 years.

I read earlier, and I was skim reading quickly (and I was in a meeting at the time) so I may have got it wrong, but isn't the Pfizer vaccine around $20 a shot, and the one that Oxford are working on around £2 a shot  -  it's a fair old difference that.

If I was to guess, and it is only a guess, I reckon we won't be getting anything at all from Pfizer this side of January, never mind in a couple of weeks
