"What we are against is the teaching of contested political theories as if they are accepted fact. We don't do this with communism; we don't do with socialism; we don't to it with capitalism".

Couldn't agree more with that statement. Except she forgot to add conservatism to the end of that list ;)

Good to see she understands the difference between BLM and black lives matter. Unlike some folk who still can't understand why some players are choosing to take the knee.

The guilt thing doesn't add up though. Learning about the past in a balanced and honest way doesn't create guilt. Doing shitty things is usually what creates guilt in most people. Newsround had a couple of decent shows about Slavery in Glasgow and Liverpool. The children had an interesting discussion about it and none of them felt guilty about anything.

Rashford's got it right by focusing on inequality and poverty. We know that minority communities are disproportionately affected but we also know that white working class communities are equally affected. So let's not let race bog us down from addressing the issue. Good luck to him.

From what I saw (brief bit) he simply explained that a higher proportion of south Asians work in the FAs IT depth than another group (can't remember which). How dare he point out that certain groups seem to have different approaches to different work sectors. A racist cunt deserving of instant cremation at the stake.

Not.

I can think of a few on here that will say yes. They will be along shortly with their candles whilst kneeling

. I had a conversation with some a few months about the use of the word ‘coloured’ I was surprised how bad he thought it was. I genuinely lose track of what is acceptable.
Based purely on the use of that I would say no.But If you then add his words on gays, women and people working there plus the recent break away it does seems he is out of touch. I have no idea what his job actually involves but if he is out of touch I have no problem him moving on.

Dear me. I do hope its not just down to him using the term 'coloured'. Whilst its dated and a little ignorant, he's of that age where he probably gets confused about which term to use.

Edit - just seen the comments about bummers and stuff, so I think it's probably the correct decision.

I still use coloured I’m not ashamed to say. I don’t use it in a derogatory manner and genuinely didn’t know it was deemed derogatory. It’s a shame we are all white Middle Aged men on here or we could have got valuable insight into it.

Why do you still use it?

Edit - just spotted you weren't aware it could be seen as offensive. But, now you know, will you continue to use it?

Speaking as a not quite middle aged white man I didn't think coloured crossed over into full on racist just not PC. He's of the age where he was told coloured was the correct term to use so there's some leeway there.

The combination of that turn of phrase along with the rest of his ramblings mark him as out of touch at best.

Does this warrant a sacking and does the report need to come with a warning?

I think an apology and and an explanation that it's a term that previously didn't offend, but does now, and how we need to have more awareness moving forward would've been more than sufficient in this case

A lot of folk don't mean anything by it, we need to move forward, no need to demonise it

My grandad used the term paki because that's what his generation did in a non offensive way, if he'd been around now I'm sure he'd have been aghast to think it offended
