I thought I’d be more upset at the play-offs being out of reach. But I’m actually quite upbeat. Playing shit and getting a draw against a team “who may go up” is actually quite a positive.

Fair point, added to Reading points deduction too.  But staying up averaging a point a game which isn't bad for a promoted team.  Hopefully when we're next in the championship there'll be a couple of teams with points deductions/financial meltdown and this time it won't be us!

Starting line up was wooden , don’t blame Aimson as he is bog standard CB 

Sadlier as lwb was pushing it a bit , he was clearly uncomfortable & Johnstone seemed dithery.No balance in the team & hitting it long was a waste of time

Subs changed the game so at least Evatt got it right in the end.

Didn't see it, but is Aimson getting a bit of unfair stick?

We know he isn't the greatest footballer, but a decent defender. If Evatt plays him, then he knows what the lad is capable of and what he isn't, so perhaps Evatt also needs to account for that in how the team plays.

As for those up top, we've had players away on international duty, and it's no great surprise that Baka didn't start, and Charles perhaps not on top form.

Still perhaps an issue with physical teams, and certainly in Derby games.

Overall though a very positive result.

I agree with that.  He can be decent on his day, but I'm never sure in what position he would nail down a position, in any side.  I'm concerned Sadlier might fall into that bracket too, although he's a better footballer.  Dapo too, does anyone know where he should play? Politic was another, attacking players that aren't wingers, strikers or no.10s arguably.

Jury definitely out on Dapo being an inside forward, most of his best play is about 30 yards from goal, with incisive passes, dribbles or shots.  A bit wasted further forward IMO.  Sadlier's best position is arguably no.10 but getting a start in that position is another matter.

One thing which annoys me a bit as others have alluded to earlier, we appear too arrogant to think we have to put the hard yards in to match teams in terms of effort before earning the right to play.

That surely isn't the case? I'm probably just frustrated we seem to start slowly too often.

At least we finish games very well though

Most of us would have gladly taken a point before the game so can’t moan about the result.

Regardless of him being a cunt or not it’s McClean, Naylor, Power, and their other physical lads that have them getting promoted this year and we’ll need to do some good business before next season to change a mid-table squad to a promotion one regardless of buying into any long term footballing philosophy.
