Really impressed with him the last couple of games. Always looking forward, happy to get a foot in and doesn’t get shaken off the ball. Hell of an engine.

Dunno if it’s the shirt number, long sleeves and whatnot but he kind of reminds me of Steven Gerrard.

I've been really impressed with him so far. Good pass on him, works hard and likes to put his foot in.

We've been missing someone like him for a good while now, he needs to be one of the first names on the team sheet and I could see him with the armband in the future.

There was a TV piece on him when he was at Chelsea Academy which showed what a great temperament he has. Lovely lad.

Me too! I thought oh fucking hell here we go again! 

I’ll join the love in. He’s exactly what we’ve been missing.

However we’ll have to accept he won’t be 100% all of the time.

Barnsley was probably his worst game. He was quite rightly replaced in the 2nd half. However even here, he never shirked and was still very solid, so I’d take this when he’s not at his best.

It makes me question whether I actually understand football at all when GT has just moved up to the championship for probably £1m+ and Simons has moved down to L1 for a reported £300k.

It’s no slight on GT, and I’m well aware that there are all sorts of different factors in why moves happen, but the football I’m watching says that it’s just fundamentally the wrong way round.

The lad played with both Bellingham and Musiala in the England youth teams and you can tell he’s a level above many in this league already. 
 

Stated himself that he wants to be seen as the best midfielder in the league this season and so far, can’t see anyone that would challenge him.

To be fair couldn’t George have played the ten role in front of Simmo and Erhahon, I reckon it would have suited him well and what a formidable three that would have been.

No chance. That No 10 role needs a certain type of player. Decent touch, vision, close control, can play in tight areas, on the half turn and can thread passes through, eye of the needle stuff. 
 

whilst we might not have yet found the answer for that in either Randall or McAtee non of the other midfielders we have / had (inc Thomasson) could do it effectively. You need a proper player in there. You can’t try and shoe horn someone in

Thomasson had some attributes but non that would’ve made that role work effectively

No, personally I don't think his game would have suited that role at all.
