Popular Post DazBob Posted August 21, 2025 Popular Post Posted August 21, 2025 Tell you what, I'm bloody well impressed with this lad. Didn't realise he's only 22 years old. He's the midfielder we've been missing for years. I don't know what we paid for him, but I reckon he's an absolute steal. Quote
Eddie Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 I’ve got a bit of man love for him. He’s a proper player - I also didn’t realise he’s that young! As you say, everything we’ve been missing for many a year. Quote
thebells Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 Opened the thread expecting to read he's out for the season or something, you little tinker! But, yeah, he's a good un! Quote
Zico Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 just having a look at his wiki and appears he's a distant relative of ex-Ipswich midfielder Jason Dozzell Quote
boltonboris Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 Really positive so far. Looks a real player Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 Really impressed with him the last couple of games. Always looking forward, happy to get a foot in and doesn’t get shaken off the ball. Hell of an engine. Dunno if it’s the shirt number, long sleeves and whatnot but he kind of reminds me of Steven Gerrard. Quote
Dr. Feelgood Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 He & Erhahon are a bit different to what we've been used to. Good. Quote
Naytch Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 I've been really impressed with him so far. Good pass on him, works hard and likes to put his foot in. We've been missing someone like him for a good while now, he needs to be one of the first names on the team sheet and I could see him with the armband in the future. Quote

Wanderlust Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 There was a TV piece on him when he was at Chelsea Academy which showed what a great temperament he has. Lovely lad. Quote
tomski Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 I like him as with most of our summer signings to be be fair Quote

But, yeah, he's a good un! Me too! I thought oh fucking hell here we go again! I’ll join the love in. He’s exactly what we’ve been missing. However we’ll have to accept he won’t be 100% all of the time. Barnsley was probably his worst game. He was quite rightly replaced in the 2nd half. However even here, he never shirked and was still very solid, so I’d take this when he’s not at his best. Quote
Lt. Aldo Raine Posted August 21, 2025 Posted August 21, 2025 He and Erhahon will very quickly become our starting two and they'll be well ahead of any other combination Quote

It’s no slight on GT, and I’m well aware that there are all sorts of different factors in why moves happen, but the football I’m watching says that it’s just fundamentally the wrong way round. Quote
barrycowdrill Posted August 22, 2025 Posted August 22, 2025 The lad played with both Bellingham and Musiala in the England youth teams and you can tell he’s a level above many in this league already. Stated himself that he wants to be seen as the best midfielder in the league this season and so far, can’t see anyone that would challenge him. instant favourite of mine Quote

No chance. That No 10 role needs a certain type of player. Decent touch, vision, close control, can play in tight areas, on the half turn and can thread passes through, eye of the needle stuff. whilst we might not have yet found the answer for that in either Randall or McAtee non of the other midfielders we have / had (inc Thomasson) could do it effectively. You need a proper player in there. You can’t try and shoe horn someone in Thomasson had some attributes but non that would’ve made that role work effectively Quote

No, personally I don't think his game would have suited that role at all. Quote
