I’d sooner we had a forward who can hold it up effectively and bring others into the game. BOD or Jerome type but still fit enough to play 30+ games.

I'm in the same camp.  Our best midfielder by a mile last season IMO.  Of course he's no tackler, but neither is anyone else in our midfield.

So would I.  But we also didn't just lose to Oxford because we couldn't create, its because they were a better team on the day (as you say not helped by Maghoma's injury one bit).  If our one shot by Sheehan had gone in and it was us leading instead of them do we really think we would have seen out the game at 1-0?  Its just not in our nature to grind out a 1-0 against a half decent team, we all know what the 2nd half would have been like with us 1 up.  Our physically weak midfield would have gone missing and it would have been like the Barnsley 2nd leg.

As bad as Maghoma was at Wembley, he wasnt as bad as Brannigan was in the 5-0. And he wasn't crocked. Just that the game passed hoim by completely (Except the free kick he gave away that we scored from).
